Saber, Kiritsugu in Black

February 5th, 2008

Kiritsugu waited on the rooftop for several hours into nighttime. He kept his back against the wall, hidden from the street and out of sight from those in the building on the opposite side. Saber stood guard, but he planned not to use her. Kiritsugu had a rifle and a night vision scope. Twelve grams of lead, it was all he needed to save one hundred people from a Magus and their war. The blood on his hands would be a fair trade to Kiritsugu.

Saber Maid Servant

October 8th, 2007

I’m really a bad master and a terrible magus for Saber. My only trick? I conjure Skittles that “accidentally” land on the floor, which my domestic Saber servant has to pick up with her fingers. A few months of this Skittle trick has given Saber some knock out American thighs, as AC/DC would call them. They look powerful. It was just like Archer said, picture the win in your mind and yadda, yadda, yadda.

Con Highlights and Loot

July 24th, 2007

Not another Otakon 2007 post! Last Otakon post, promise. For all the things at the con that could have been run better, I still had a good time and was glad I made the trip. Most of the panels were amusing or interesting in some way and blowing lots of money on useless stuff in the dealer’s room is always fun.

Panel Highlights

The most entertaining panels for me each year are the English voice actor panels. Far fewer people this year asked the annoying question about how to get into voice acting, so the panels really stayed fun most of the time. The guests could just tell stories and be funny. There’s always a few creepy questions asked by obsessed fans that earn a collective what the hell, but it’s funny to talk about it afterwards.

Tohsaka Update

May 11th, 2007

Here’s Rin a few weeks after bending her back into shape. There’s a little bit of warp coming back, but I expected that since the inner tube she’s carrying makes for an imbalance and I didn’t do anything to counteract that weight. So, while the hot water method is a pretty good way of reshaping the figure, it still doesn’t deal with why the figure warped in the first place. At least, it’ll extend the display life for a couple of months depending on the figurine.

The image on the left was taken on April 24 and the one on the right on May 11:

On the other hand, it gives me a reason to start rotating the figures on display instead of just buying another display case to fill up with pvc. And Erwin writes a little about figure warpage and prevention.

One fine day, Saber contemplated the possible strategic effects on the most recent Grail War had a master other than Shirou summoned her. Saber, not normally one to waste time on useless speculation, began analyzing the course of her quest when she found herself dressed in meido fetish-wear. How did she get to this point and would she walk a prouder path today had a different master summoned her?

Van is a master that really won’t care too much about the Grail War. Saber would constantly be shopping for mayonnaise.
