Finished 009-1
At first, 009-1 looked like it would be an action oriented spy story, lots of gadgets, infiltration missions, and spy duels. At least, that was the impression I got from the first DVD. The series changes tempo for the rest, slowing down into something more blue that’s worth it if you can take slower riffs [...]
009-1 Weird Look, but I Like It
As far as current style goes, 009-1 has a unique look to the character designs which acts as both blessing and curse. It’s a new show that looks old, so to many fans that makes 009-1 a fugly show. Fugly hurts when the sex appeal of the lead, Mylene Hoffman who comes from the curvaceous [...]
Ending Haruhi in the Rain
Hype is a giant killer. The more furious the proclamations of greatness the more likely the legend will be dead on arrival. A few days ago I finished The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, its battered and bloody, but it survived hype’s special attack and was a fun show for me to watch.
Eureka Seven vol.10
Goofy episodes in non-wacky shows, do you love them or hate them? I guess it depends on the episode or series itself, but generally I like the goofy episodes much of the time. In Eureka Seven the goofy episodes are helped out by some of the fun stuff that goes on as normal in every [...]
E7 v9, Gekko State, Combat Soundtracks
With Eureka Seven it’s a broken record comment, but it’s oh so true. Each volume gets me even more pumped than before and for a different reason than before. This time what got me were the actual events of the “Big Story” moving forward with a side of LFO. Wallpaper from Pixelated Graffiti
Noein, Good Stuff
In the end, I enjoyed Noein. Just, what was it I saw? In part, Noein is a mindfrag anime, using quantum physics and that cute theory that all possibilities exist all the time in their own separate dimensions as decoration. The details of the quantum-p babble really aren’t important to grasp (but good side quest [...]
My Otome DVD vol.2
Having seen My-HiME, it’s impossible not to compare My-Otome with it, especially since in the eight episodes released so far on region one dvd, My-Otome drops plenty of HiME references and character revisions. I have a lot of fun with these references, so they’re having the intended effect. The character revision that made me laugh [...]
