Happy Wedding Azusa

September 13th, 2007

It was almost two in the morning by the time I got home. My head was foggy and just wanted to fall asleep, but needed to unravel a little from the reception, out of the suit, in front of a fan and just clear the swamp from my entire body. Azusa got married. It was the perfect day and Azusa looked spectacular. When she strolled down the aisle and I felt the sweet breeze of her walking past make its way across my face, I thought one of these days I need to get me someone like her, except, you know, larger than 1/6 scale and not an anime or video game character.

Iris was angry, so I told her to smile. Don’t you hate it when people tell you to smile? Maybe you’ve just worked several 80 hour weeks in row, your relationships have turned crap because of that, or as with Iris, a princess without a castle to waltz in, and some idiot just wants to turn that frown upside down, as if it were that easy. I usually smile when the idiot asks, but it’s because I imagine how funny it would be to punch them in the face.

It’s true though that some of the things that weigh down, we really didn’t need to carry for as long as we did. I’m definitely one of those who carries things for far too long. How about you?

I was really late getting to the studio, close to midnight — just one of those days where a hundred five minute delays got in the way.  When I opened the door I expected to find a note from Ignis telling me she grew tired of waiting, that I should have called and been more considerate.  Instead of a note, I found the studio splattered with blood and Ignis sheathing her sword.  Some random demons tracked her down and tried to have their way with her.  I guess I owe those demons for keeping her in the studio.  Ignis annihilated them and she was pumped from the battle, so everything worked out to my convenience.  We started shooting with the gore left on the wall.

One of my favorite character archetypes or character themes is a sword bearer wearing a long dress, so when I saw this go up for pre-order I had to get it.  Atelier Sai set the SRP at 9000 yen, which is pretty darn high for a 1/6 scale PVC figure.  Now that she stands in my display case, I have mixed feelings about this figure and purchasing Atelier Sai figures in general.  On the plus side, the figure has a slightly different feel to it than the rest of my collection, which is mostly stuff from the Alter, Good Smile Company, and Max Factory.  On the other hand, for 9000 yen, I expected a better paint job and better construction.
