Queen’s Gate Alice (NSFW)
“Relax. You’re in control,” said Alice kneeling on the fluffy bed as she gently ran her finger along his belt. “I’m a demon. You’re supposed to want me beyond your better judgment.”
This figure has an eighteen plus rating. Turn back if that’s not for you.
Review of MegaHouse’s Queen’s Gate Alice
She’s got a tail, which makes me assume Alice is some sort of demon. Convenient, no? Nitro+ sure knows how to design them, that’s for sure. Qualms over the loliness aside, this is quite a seductive figure.
Alice is packaged in such a way that in order to remove all of the protective wrapping, taking off her outfit is necessary. It’s one of the better done cast-offs. Most cast-off figures tend to look bloated when fully clothed, since the clothing has to be a certain thickness. Either that or the unclothed figure has odd proportions to compensate for the thickness of the clothing. MegaHouse did a fantastic job making Alice look attractive in either configuration.
Other Stuff
There are some figures that are more fun to photograph than others. Alice is a lot of fun to photograph. She’s got that wonderful gaze that Nitro+ based figures tend to have, weapons, the ecchi pose, and the taboo even though it’s plastic aspect does add some edge to making the pictures.
I find cameras to be cruel instruments, ready to emphasize what’s wrong with a subject. I kind of don’t trust other people with cameras, which is why I hate having my picture taken. I hope these look more pretty than they do nasty, that the images emphasize what makes this an attractive figure, rather than being an activity of perverted otaku glee. Oh there’s some of that for sure, so I’m not trying to go artiste or anything either and trying to pretend I’m not depraved somehow. I am.
As always, Foobarbaz (NSFW) has an excellent set and it’s a bit more faithful in color reproduction than my photos, though since most people don’t calibrate their monitors anyway, nobody should be assuming colors in any review are anything but a ballpark representation of the paint colors anyway.

wryyyy, now I’m angry. I ordered this too and kidnemo (AGAIN) has not even sent a confirmation of shipping. Last time I order from them, ever.
Which company did you purchase her from? I’m going to start ordering there too, given the fact it’s the FOURTH figure that doesn’t get sent to me.
As usual, <3 the pics, Super Rats. I really like the full fluffy white feel over the usual dark undertones that have been taking your pictures as of late. Excellent contrast and displays fantastic over your blog theme.
I would have an Alice in my lap anyday.

Well, Kid Nemo is a US based store and they get their stuff later than the Japan store does, so with current distribution, they usually don’t get stock until a month later. With that in mind, they run a good store, just for the roughly $5-10 bucks you’ll save on the domestic release you’ll wait longer. I generally only use them for Kotobukiya stuff, since Koto has a good discount on their US releases and the savings are more substantial.
I buy 90% from Hobby Search, who is also a site sponsor, so really all the money I get from them goes straight back to HobbySearch. They were my primary store before they were a sponsor, so I’m not really shilling. They are pretty good with processing time compared to some other stores. Only time I use someone else is when HobbySearch closes their pre-order window for something. Alice was such a case. I used my backup Japan store HLJ.
With the tone on the photos I go through swings. I do generally prefer more shadowy stuff though.

Yea, I have to admit, for the longest time HLJ was my figure-god. I had a shrine or something to them, and prayed to the tiki gods each night for expedient shipping etc…
well no, not really, but I used to order all through HLJ, I diversified a bit cause HLJ was not carrying a few items I want and decided to roll the dice with ordering through Kidnemo… but totally bad results. Six out of Six failures is bad. HLJ is also based out of the US (well the payments go there on my CCard), but they have been rock solid.
Hobbysearch is good too? I shall pair up with them as well.
Thank you, Super Rats.
(the citizens demand more ecchi Alice pics.) D:

-Alice’s gaze totally makes this excellent. Nitro+ eye designs just translate so well to figure form, since I find figures based on their designs engage the viewer in a strong way.
-The only annoying thing with HobbySearch (and it’s something that isn’t their fault) is the transactions are based in Japan and it triggers fraud alert on my CC a few times a year (when releases get bottlenecked) and I have to call to get my card unlocked. HobbySearch is EMS only, which is a deal breaker for some people.
-With Kid Nemo, I’ve only bought stuff that was already in stock and never had any pre-order experience, so my experience wasn’t the total package.

My personal Experience with Local Shops + Japan based shops:
Preorder Figures that are going to have a high demand with a Japan based store!!!!!You may end up empty handed otherwise.Thats what happened to me with Char Rhouseman.I preordered her at a local shop ages before release but this shop didnt get ANY figures of her due to the high demand. Now i have all Shuraki Figures except Char. Grrrrrrrr…
Preorder from Japan for your own saftety.Local Shops are great for older figures because they tend to be still available whil beeing sold out in Japan.

Get shots as always SuperRats. I am currently waiting impatiently for mine.
I’ve gotten most of my figures from HLJ with a few from Play-Asia and HobbySearch. Mainly because HLJ offers SAL shipping which tends to be 40-60% cheaper the EMS just takes longer.
@Len-Vesper
HLJ is in Japan they might have a US company doing their CC billing but everything is shipped out of Japan.

I am a recent HLJ to Hobby Search convert.
From my experience, HLJ advantages:
1. allows different billing and shipping address
2. simpler website navigation (Hobby Search’s order form can be confusing for first time buyers)
3. preorder often starts after other stores
4. SAL shipping is available
Hobby Search’s advantages:
1. point system
2. permanent discount
3. more flexible order combination.
HLJ used to be my main store mostly because of point 1 (I used to work as a consultant that would move around the country). Now that I am settled, I have been using Hobby Search, and so far I am very happy. I don’t need the “early bird” to get the price discount, and the points help with shipping.
More importantly, HobbySearch’s order combination is very convenient. I can pretty much ship all the figures of a month at once, saving a lot of money on shipping and I don’t have to go to the post office to pick up packages as often. Plus, I don’t lose the benefits of insurance and tracking. My main gripe in the past months was HLJ’s tendency to ship figures in small groups, and that builds up pretty bad for EMS.
Nowadays, my modus operandi is to preorder on Hobby Search and recombine orders by month of release. If I miss a preorder on Hobby Search, I have HLJ and their wider preorder window as backup (it just happened with Figma Hatsune Miku). The main disadvantage is that I don’t get some figures right away, but I don’t really care since I haven’t setup the figure area in the condo.

Hey…did your Alice’s tail come attached already? Or as a separate piece? I think mine is missing her tail
Pretty sure I didn’t drop it anywhere, and with the way everything was taped down, don’t think there would have been space for it to drop anywhere anyway…
Damn that bums me out! There’s an ugly lookin pipe piece stickin out of her lower back with nothing to stick into it lol
Have any advice on what to do? Or am I just SOL?

Seiken / VMan of Mana, that’s a good way of breaking down HobbySearch and HLJ.
Alice’s tail was attached on mine, Suneo. If your’s is missing the tail, pretty much all you can do is contact the store you bought it from and try to make an exchange, though considering it’s sold out everywhere that might be a problem. Triple check that it just didn’t fall off somewhere.
Welcome, Fat Cat Lim. Hope to see those pictures. Figures rock and making photos of them can be a lot of fun.

on September 5th, 2008
yea it’s not anywhere
It’s a pretty big piece to lose, and plus it comes wrapped around her leg with everything taped down. Nothing was in my box or my floor…. T_T
Tried contacting the store, but don’t think they can do anything since they’ve long sold out of their stock….shoot I wanna cry lol
btw your shots as always make every bit of her look so damn smexy it’s criminal lol.
Love the grassy shot and the featherbed where she’s on her side (…still with her daggerguns…!! dangerous)

The tail can come off, but it leaves a little post sticking up from her back, which you can’t see if she’s clothed and viewed from the front.
suneo
on September 5th, 2008
I think just knowing that there’s somethin stickin out there with nothing to go into it kinda hurts, but yea it’s not very visible if looking from the front. Hmm….but viewing from the front might expose too much of her loliboobs for me lol
Maybe I can take the twist ties that were used to hold her down in the package and make a temporary makeshift tail until I can do something else about it haha
(looking at your avatar super rats, the thought just popped into my head that Alice and Etna would make a wicked loliduo lol)

I’m with you on avoiding Kidnemo, I placed an order months ago and had been waiting awhile for it to be released, well it did and when I inquired , they said I had canceled my order for it, HA lairs. I had them ship it and it arrived but I must have been lucky and caught them while they still had one left. But after some shady shipping boxes and what not I dropped KN. I’ve had very good success with other smaller companies. And I really don’t think HLJ is based anywhere in the U.S.
Hobbysearch is good but their lack of shipping options and my desire to have more money in my pocket is greater than getting a product superfast through EMS.
I don’t know why people even have to think about preordering any QB/QG’s. Its a straight no brainer for me, unless it too loli

I was reading you guys about which online store you are buying your figures from.
In my case I never ordered from Hobby Search (maybe someday…) and I also had few cancelled orders with Kid Nemo (And their customer service isn’t always very friendly…). I also ordered two or three figures from HLJ and got an excellent service.
But my revelation is e2046.com. They have a constant 10% reduction on the PVC and when you become a VIP member (after US$500 worth or purchases) you have a 7% more reduction on each items.
For shipping they offer Hongkong Post Registered Air Mail (7 - 14 Days Delivery) (about US$10-15) and EMS.
Selling PVC figures for them is somewhat new and they cannot combine shipping for now but they said to me that they are working on that.
Here’s a link to the PVC section of their website :
http://www.e2046.com/categories.php?action=search&mode=search&cat=6&x=40&y=23
I hope it can help you guys to shop the best prices for your figures!

Wow, your photos really shine through and capture Alice
I like your lighting especially, how you’ve made it seem so her skin is so pinkish.
I remember seeing this for pre-order on hlj… at the time I hesitated and was keen on saving a few dollars. The it sold out on hlj, and I was bombarded with good Alice reviews whenever I searched for her again. So in the end, I decided to pay extra and risk it at eBay -.-;
Anyways, I really like this figure. Although I have some unanswered questions about this figure(even tho I’ve got the figure now XD; ).
1. Whats the proper way to make her hold her gundaggers? At first I assumed that the thumbs could come off, cause it looked like it from the structure of it.. But then I gave up trying because it felt like I was gonna snap her thumbs off. In the end I shoved the gun in her hand and hoped the jaggered edges dont scratch the hand…
2. Whats your perception of the “lean factor” of this figure XD; She doesnt even have a metal screw base, and shes bending forward with her pose adding unbalanced weight…
Waa… I’m so worried
