Hetero Chua Churam
Some of us become stars because we’re talented. Some because they paid their dues. Some because of charisma. The rest of us aren’t meant to be stars and that’s okay. Though, when you see wtf gets a recording contract sometimes, it stings a bit.
Review of Alter’s Chua Churam
This is an amazing sculpt. Too bad it’s so small, probably around 1:10 scale. If this were a normal sized 1:8 scale figure, it would win at supreme awesomeness. But, is merely superb at the smaller scale.
She’s priced like a 1:8 scale figure, but it’s obvious the price went to doing it right for the retail version of the figure. With all of the ruffles and details, this must have been a beast to process on the production line. So while the price may seem high for a small figure, Alter really didn’t jack up and shaft collectors on the price-point, at least for me, I saw where the money went.
This piece is a shelf highlight. There’s just so much for the eye to go over.
Other Stuff
Keep in mind the small scale of the figure when viewing the photos. The level of detail and the sharpness of detail on Chua is incredible considering how much magnification is actually going on in the photos. It’s a bit more magnification than on a normal 1:8 scale figure or larger.
Other than size, the only thing I would wish for were strings on the guitar. I saw this over at Kimagureman Studio last week and was wowed by the strung up guitar. Talk about amazing! I know Mukyaa, Gordonator have done sweet reviews as has the great Foobarbaz. I don’t get around as much as I used to, so if I missed anyone, my bad. Let me know and I’ll link it.
Seems I’m pretty late to the party on Chua. Hope it wasn’t too much of a rolleyes, ugh, meh, sheesh, not another Chua Churam thing.

thanks for the mention. ^^;
this is a gorgeous figure despite it’s small size. i feel like doing the strings myself but was afraid of screwing up. :-/

If I were used to building models and stuff, it would probably seem a lot less daunting of a task, but since I don’t, there’s the whole I might mess it up thing going on in the back of my head.

I still think ALTER (or the sculptor) could have made an effort and designed something bigger, for the same price. Considering how much we will have to pay for 1:7 scale figures from Nanoha StrikerS…
Maaaah nevermind. This is already an amazing figure, and I always love when you bring back this gorgeous red “background”
Just lovely.

Bigger would have been better. If they did that, Alter could have said I WIN 2008!

I love the details on her dress.Alter did an superb job on the frills. What makes this even more amazing is that they maintained such high detail at such a small scale and with small i mean really small. What bothers me the most is that the guitar doesnt have strings and im pretty sure i would mess up if id try to apply them myself.
Dont worry that youre late with your review.Id also come and look at your pictures if youd take shots of 3 year old figures.^^

I guess you can also say it is nice that she is small and so good looking, because you can put her on a desk or other small space to enjoy her. The lack of strings hopefully won’t bother me, I’ll just imagine it’s some futuristic guitar that doesn’t need any lol

you are not late super rats, I still haven’t take photos of mine yet xD. She’s small but incredibly detail, if she was a 1/8 scale she probably be talking quite some space to display

I love the colors! And the pose. Size doesn’t matter to me because honestly if it was 1/7 or 1/8 it probably wouldn’t fit anywhere nicely in my room, with all her blowing details. That’s also why I’ve held off buying Alter’s Fate because I know I won’t have room for her. Need to build some shelves . . .

Gorgeous figure. But the size of it did keep me from Pre-ordering. If I ever see her around maybe I’ll pick her up; all thanks to these pictures.

Chua Churam is a great figure alright. The pose she’s in just literally leaps right at you, demanding your attention, with the colors, bright and vivid. Great as a “centerpiece” sort of figure, to be placed right smack in the middle of the shell. The price was just a little too much for me to bear though, so I had to pass.

I got mine before my Niniane (e2046) but took pics of Niniane first. I feel like Chua is pretty small, I wish she was a bit bigger.. But she is still pretty and is very cute, I love the amount of detail that went into creating her.

Thanks for the comments, hellos, and stuff. ^^
It’s actually a pretty heavy figure…I wonder just how heavy it would have been at 1/8 scale?

Rockin’ set as always super rats! I love this lady and I plan to jam with her when I get home tonight ^o^. You know, a small scale is never off putting for me, what counts in the end is what the maker can achieve - what magic they make with the final piece is where the value is always… Plus a tiny piece is more easy to sneak into an already massive collection.

Aww…The pictures flatter her~
If you didnt mention that she was really tiny, I wouldn’t have second thoughts on getting her~ The details are superb~

It’s a tinsel garland still bunched together. Is a Valentine’s Day decoration, so it has glittered hearts in it too.
