Malibu Chu Chu [nsfw]
Chu Chu plops down on the plush velvet maroon couch next to Gustav, real name Gary changed for artistic merit. Neither one said anything for a little bit. They were introduced thirty-seconds ago and then were left alone instantly, so all he caught was Chu Chu was some idol singer from Japan and that her English sucked. That was about all he was gonna know since he wasn’t even sure if sayonara! was hello or good-bye. No translator around. Lucky enough for him the music was pretty loud, so he lay back and hoped rescue would come shortly.
At least he wouldn’t have to have the so what do you do conversation. Gustav was a painter and it was never a satisfactory conversation. Either some “life of the party” would think he’s the first one ever to crack a paint my house joke or it was some tart who had an art history minor who knew it was serious business at the soul level. Even worse, some fucker who collected art supplies would think they were comrades in arms and want to talk shop. One actually has to paint to be a painter, asshole. Personally, he could really give a rats ass about Art. A monkey could do it, any monkey with the shit that passed these days. Gary Gustav loved slapping paint on canvas, though sometimes on wood, or carpeting, and sorta rich, but not wealthy, morons loved buying it, thanks to Leonard, gallery owner / dude throwing this party. Okay he’s not that cynical about it, normally, just at parties, because everyone is so fake there that his artist status sort of makes him ill. Just once, it would make him real happy, just once if one of those idiots who stopped drinking merlot because some movie jackass wouldn’t drink that “stinkin’ merlot”, could just admire the paint, stare at it without thinking, stare as if they didn’t have a brain, because that brain turns them into a four gallon douche who swings away from paintings and lip-farts, “I see an influence from Muchinfutz’s Polynesian period with just a hint of Pre-Post-Industrial Commercialism on the color scheme?” *sips*, a regular oh you’re so fucking smart fucker that takes all the life out of a painting. He looked at Chu Chu and sighed. Thank god for small miracles.
Anyway, Gustav really had no clue who this Japanese vampire chick with a country-fair ribbon stapled to her head was. She was bopping up and down to the music. Way too happy like. His four year old niece bopped like that to the Dora song, so it was a little weird to see this fully formed chick riding the couch like a coin-op sea horse in front of the super market.
“Who is this?,” Chu Chu asked, smiling.
Gustav answered, “Portishead.”
“I like them.”
It was kind of depressing shit for a party, really, but Gustav liked it too, though the songs weren’t that familiar. Must be a new album, which was weird since they didn’t put anything out in like ten years. Ten years?
He felt old.

Review of Chu Chu Astram from GoodSmile Company
Wow is all I can say about Chu Chu. Mostly it’s a reaction to just how see-through her garment is and that she’s not wearing any pants or pantsu, making it the most ecchi figure I own. She’s detailed upstairs with her fancy eye work set behind some gold rimmed shades, but down below Chu Chu is Malibu Barbie. One of the funny things about figures is we tend to get more anatomical definition, every nook and cranny, through the pantsu than when there’s no pantsu. It doesn’t matter though, since that view gets blocked anyway from what should be the on axis view.
The pose, while appealing, is slightly awkward without Chu Chu’s friend wrapped around her. The figure looks more balanced with that thing, but for T&A purposes that critter blocks the best part, which is Chu Chu’s nice butt. Still, her friend does make it more interesting when looking at the figure as a whole, just he got in the way for pervy photo purposes.
GoodSmile’s Chu Chu Astram gets a lot of what I like in an ecchi figure. Nice butt, shapely legs, and an exposed tummy. The see through top is okay, but me better if it were a little more opaque, though I guess being ecchi is the point of this figure, so maybe that’s just me going OMG! there really is something wrong with me for owning this.
The construction stuff is very good like sculpt sharpness, cleanliness of paint, mold/join lines. The base works, detailed and not distracting, and is somewhat reminiscent of another somewhat naughty looking netherworld cutie from GSC, Melissa Seraphy. In a way Chu Chu has the same feel as Melissa Seraphy, but taken up one level of ecchi.

Other Stuff
I’ve mentioned it before, but what the hell is up with the headgear on some of these anime girls? That thing on Chu Chu’s head really reminds me of a prize ribbon or something and just looks odd. Good thing there’s a whole lot of other things on Chu Chu that draw attention.
I’m not entirely clear as to the deal with Chu Chu. The upcoming Alter version of Chu Chu has different hair and has that different colored eye thing going on. It’s a hot figure too, so I’ve got it pre-ordered as well even though I’m clueless on it all.
Foobarbaz (18+) has shots of Chu Chu without her top on if you’re curious.

The other Chu Chu (name is Chuura I think) is her normal form and this one is her vampire form
Hence the differences.

Wow, uh, yeah, I knew that her nipples were exposed, but the crotch is exposed too? Half of me is thankful I didn’t get her, while the other half is drowning in remorse.

Chu Chu Astram is a vampire who comes from somewhere for a certain reason, but have no idea why (but is that really important?), and when she kisses Chiyu (the hero’s friend), those two become Chua Churam. This explains the title Chu x Chu Idol haha ^^
And well, I kindda prefer ALTER’s heterochromia Chua, so canceled this beautiful Chu Chu.
I already said it, but love those smartly chosen angle of view of yours. Thanks for the eyeful ^^

Dammit, why didn’t I get mine yet? :[
Such a pretty figurine.

Whoa. You’ve excelled yourself on the opening write-up. Gustav was hilarious.

It’s time for some Chu Chu fanservice, whether you like it or not. Very sexy girl that must be hidden when company comes over.

I’m actually anticipating Alter’s release of Chua Churam. Though having seen actual photos of this one makes me think that I should buy one.

Her “default cast-off” makes me hesitate at first, but I finally ended putting her on preorder. She is too cute and now a sensation figure, a strong candidate for being the best figure of this year.

Hey super_rats, is the head-ribbon thing removable? Sometimes I think the figure would be vastly improved without it.

Whoops!, got slammed at work and didn’t mean to ignore.
~ron: Peg breakage is something I thought about, particularly since that bat thing hangs on her without any support. There’s no exact position to place it, so one can easily put it where it applies pressure in a way the base might not be able to handle.
Leopold: Thanks.
Pure Trance: So Chu Chu is like some magical girl with a transform sequence?
Zeroblade: With the bat thing draped around her, the crotch area is covered.
lu-k: Two chars merge together. I think I have seen a picture of this Chu Chu and another character and hopefully it’s with her and not some male character.
Len-Vesper: Very pretty.
IKnight: Thanks. It was fun writing that part and hope to indulge in it more from time to time instead of the usual one paragraph.
Yamcha: Right now I’m decided just where to put Chu Chu. I’m not one to hide stuff if your in my house, but I’m not about to put her in the most visible location either.
Adun: Alter’s version, if it holds up to what we’ve seen, I think is gunning for most awesome figure this year, at least as far as a production is concerned.
Kamugin: Default cast-off is a real good description. Even though the upcoming Alter version has stolen some of this one’s thunder, it is definitely an awesome figure which one can argue is the best figure so far this year.
JF: I agree that the state-fair ribbon on her head just doesn’t work at all in 3D. I wish I could remove it.

GSC has done it again but I still prefer the Alter version of Chua Churam. The little hearts shouldn’t be there ^_^. What I don’t like in this figure is how dangerous she is fixed to the base that’s I’ve been avoiding figures in weird poses.

Well there is the heartless versions you can click on, but I know that’s a pain unless you really want to see it. Both Danny Choo and Heisei Democracy make you do an extra click to see that kind of thing, so figured I’d follow their convention for it.

Chu Chu on a quest to search for her “mom” (dunno if this is in a vampire sense or literal) in order for her to operate outside during the day and something else which escapes me atm) she makes a pact with Chiyu (brown haired blue eyed girl) when they fuse they have to kiss and the pink haired version is the “Gattai” form of them.

Forgot to mention… the head-ribbon thing isn’t a prize ribbon, it’s the kind of ribbons used on funerals sometimes placed near or on the coffin… really a morbid detail and I too wished that it can be removed.

Awesome pictures!
Question though, does she have some kind of support? I mean, the way she’s posed looks as if she’s ready to lean and fall in the future.
Is she stable enough?
