Franco il Nero [questionable]
“Whatcha lookin’ at scrumptious?,” said Franco il Nero, waiting like a snake in the grass, gun drawn, wardrobe in planned malfunction. “You wouldn’t be looking at that, now would you? If it were me and a pretty lil’ thing had a gun pointed my way, I know where my eyes wouldn’t go no matter how tempting it’d be. I realize I’m not exactly human, meaning you prolly don’t think of us on the same plane you and I, but you see that world view of yours ain’t that sweet right about now. Funny how it works out, don’t it sweet thang? So, how’s about you show me a bit o’ respect by maintaining eye contact while I dictate the terms of your surrender.”

Review of Alter’s Franco il Nero
What a great sculpt and what a scary way to mount a figure! Alter surely delivers again with a fantastic sculpt and awesome paint job for Franco. However, just one plastic peg supports the entire weight of the figure. Someone who uses too much force pushing the support into the base could break it, which doesn’t seem that difficult to do since the peg feels like it should go in further than it does. It’s also susceptible to swaying to vibrations, like someone walking quickly past the display case, so the support is a big question mark.
You know, I don’t find Franco particularly attractive, nor do I find the pose all that sexy, so it doesn’t work for me that way. What I do like this Franco sculpt for is there’s just nothing else like it on the pvc market. It’s so detailed and action packed that it really holds my attention.
The base is a mixed bag. The wall section is awesome, but the brown disc just doesn’t seem to measure up at all to the rest of the figure. It should have been plain or continue to be part of the wall diorama.

Other Stuff
The manufacturing artifact on her rump that Shingo pointed out in his review is present in mine as well, so it’s not just a one-off thing that happens, but a likely process flaw. It is however in such an unnoticeable place that it doesn’t matter a whole lot.
Of course a figure this good and has been out this length of time has been well reviewed. In addition to the Hesei Democracy review, there’s Lu-k’s, for wall to wall coverage of this fine in your face figurine.

Gorgeous pics. Love the “fang” tag.

agree that the brown discs is the worst part of the figurine, they should use something more arty
her clothes somehow reminds me of FSN archer ^^

lovely pics as always. ^^;
she has a nice pose but i bet no one in real life can strike such a pose, aim their pistol, wink and smile at the same time. (’~')

agree that Alter could have made a better base rather than a brown disc. Love the picture especially the second last one

It is so beautiful and way a pair with Donne Anonime. If you make a scenario for put the figures it would be perfect

I love the pictures with those flowers, so explosive! Much like the figure, I suppose. Great shots. Oh and that base is pretty bad, there are so many colors out there I don’t see why they had to choose that one “~” !!

Danny, I thought I’d had more figures with a fang, but the four that are there are all nice figs.
Ron, now that you mention it, I can see the Archer.
Gordon, that’s why she’s not human.
Valho, thanks.
Persefone Loki, I should have thought of that and had them duel or something like that.
Morimoli, it’s not just the color, but the texture and the raised text that makes it real yucky.
Sara, the details are great like the metal studs on her belt and the rivets and well everything.

Great shots as always ^^
I agree with everyone on the base, same for Donne Aninime too. I wonder who choose this color and why they did not do a full diorama with a real floor, and better if we could have assembled all the three grils in one base.
And I have the same spot on her bummy too ! >.<

I like the yellow flower background, very nice. This figure is a bit “much” for me so I probably won’t get it, though it is very nice.

Really, what’s there to say? Regardless of how many times I visit your blog, each new figureshoot is never the same and never fails to impress.
I love the outside pics, especially the sunflower ones.

It’s all indoors. I still don’t have the gemstones to take it outside.

Man, nice figure and pics. Seems like a lot of the makers are skimping out on the bases. Just got Alter’s Kanu Unchou and the base is a plain clear blue base.

the shot with the sunflowers is indeed the best. All indoors o.0? Wow, great photoshop skills! The photos of the grass and sunflowers. Did you google it up or ..:S?

Yeah, that brown disc really detracts from the figure. That would work fine for less detailed figures, but a figure with that level of detail would have really benefited from just about anything less bland.
The figure is a bit too heavy on the fan service for my tastes, but I certainly have to admire the craftsmanship. Great pictures as usual as well.

Hirvine: Nothing that complicated. The grass and flowers are real world, but artificial, made of plastic, etc. All I did was isolate the white BG and fill it in with a blue gradient.

finally saw this review stashed away in old posts lol
Great pics and nice effects with the grass and flowers. I especially like the “crouching” shot of her in the sunflowers. That works awesomely well!
In my own post on her I think i wrote that mine didn’t have that defect on her buttcheek, but upon closer inspection it is actually there. But it was so unnoticeable that I didn’t even see it at first lol. Surely didn’t seem as prominent as I’d seen in HD’s review.
