Every school has many of the same cliques and every student including Akatsuki Mishiro involuntarily belonged to one. You can tell a lot about a student’s life by where they can sit in the cafeteria, she said, but in spite of all the cosmetic differences among them, really most of them were all the same. For all the many different inane cliques there were, Mishiro believed there were really only two — cliques with students who secretly fight “demons” and cliques that don’t. She then looked off into the distance withdrawing to a sanctuary within her while the wind carried her hair. The only thing missing was snow.

Opinion of Akatsuki Mishiro from GoodSmile

This babe has been so heavily reviewed already and I’ve got nothing new to say. I tend to agree that Mishiro is a good figure. Having three states of dress is amusing, but I’d rather they spend the production money on improving the detailing and paint instead of giving us extra clothing gimmicks. I think the area where her hair tendrils sprout from her head could have used a little more care.

That said, I think I’ll display her with torn clothes. Her base is splattered in blood and I think the battle-worn look matches that better than a clean school uniform.

Some More Rambling

I’m so late to the party on this. Some of the blogs I visit have already posted their loving fanshots of Mishiro long ago:

Normally, I don’t get too blatant with the cast-off and pantsu shots, because they often don’t do anything to support the allure or beauty of the character. I do have lapses, so I’m hardly strict to adhering to that ideal, but that’s generally why I don’t go for it all the time. Here I liked the contrast of the sword, the bold red tassels, and the vulnerability of being undressed as a justification for being ecchi.

Also, the 768×1024 large size images for Mishiro are in PNG format. I think I’m going to stick to uploading PNG to Flickr, so that when Flickr converts the smaller views to JPEG, there will only be one round of compression and color shift instead of two.

Ugh I noticed the imperfect job on her hair too. There’s some odd metallic glue around that part. Can see her from where I’m sitting because she’s just next to me. Probably have to box her soon as I can see dust starting to gather at one or two spots…

One sock, one stocking, seems they’re trying to appeal to many different tastes here. Again, a wonderful job doing the posing and snaps.

It didn’t even register with me that she has one sock and one stocking. Now I know why I kept thinking that compositionally the balance was off. It’s emphasized by the black background and the sock/stocking area getting lost in the darkness.

A very nice figure for Shuraki line but they could have worked a little better on her hair. Her underwear is really nice ^^

Are you sure you wanna display this beauty with torn clothes? Better just display her without any ^^ XD

I really like how you got the background to blend into the darkness. Mind explaining how you did that? She’s also in a really cool pose and chicks welding swords are always cool.

Inspired photoshoot! It’s really got the aura of a battle scene from a movie like Hero or Flying Daggers with those swathes of red fabric! It looks like giant ceremonial banners cascading after being cut by her blades!
I think one of the greatest things about the Shuraki series is that, cast off gimmicks, whether you love them or hate them (and I know which category I fall into, ^_^) are done exquisitely AND the lingerie is to die for detail-wise!
    Bravo

The scene from Hero where they’re fighting in that giant room with the green banners blowing in the wind is the inspiration for this, except a much smaller scale. It would have been nice to do it with many rows of banners, but the area of the stage here is the width of a kabob skewer (where the ribbons hang from).

There is a figure box on either side of her to support the kabob skewer. Imagine the figure at the center of a clock with the front part of the boxes flush with her. The camera is at 6, the lights at 4 and 8. With the boxes where they are, none of the light hits more than two or three inches behind her. I then took an index card as a reflector to bounce some light to the back where the ribbons are. Since the ribbons in front block much of the reflector light from the ones in the back, the ones in back look further away than they are, which is only about four inches away from the ribbons in front.

Ah, the face is just awesome, and I do love her pose, especially after seeing your photos of her.

But the hair! I can’t stand the hair XD

Hmm, I’ve never seen her fully cast off before, you’re the first lol. The figure is nice and I agree that more detail can be put on a figure rather than giving it more clthoing options.
