Kureha was already out on the balcony when I decided to escape from the party for a few minutes of cool autumn air. I almost turned around because I’m horrible at trying to come up with small talk, the reason I needed to hide from the party for a few, but the way she gazed out at the moon hanging over the city made me stay. Girls that beautiful just freak me out. I just can’t seem to hold a normal conversation, so yeah, if I stick to mono-syllabic communications I should be OK and not come off as some freak, but then I just remembered half a second before saying “hey” that my costume for this party was Crazed Sex Maniac PhD from Naughty Nurse Discipline Cream or whatever.
“Oh hi,” she said with a relaxed half smiled. I could act normal now, that was all I needed to see, that look I’m familiar with, the one she gives when she sees a guy who she can be friends with without any benefits for the guy.
That’s like my job, being that guy. In a way I don’t mind staying behind the rope. At some point reality intrudes on that ideal pristine beauty and shatters the illusion.
Kureha giggled at something I said and went back inside. I don’t think she’s ever been as beautiful.
Review of Kureha from Max Factory
It’s Kureha’s gaze that makes this figure, the way she looks as if she were remembering something that no longer can be. The big design element are those bright orange sleeves which give a glow about her almost wherever she goes. The sleeves are almost too vibrant and draw some attention away from her face, but such a unique sleeve design is just sweet to look at. Sculpt and artistry on the figure is top notch. The production quality is pretty good with some debris here and there and some paint outside of where it’s supposed to be, but looks great and distinct on the shelf.
Short review because you’ve probably already seen Kureha covered better at foo-bar-baz and dannychoo.

There are sure a lot of pictures of Kureha at the moment, but yours are definitely the best! ever ^^
Don’t know if I’ll be able to find the courage to take pictures of mine when she’ll arrive hahaha ^^;

Sweet photos, definitely a stunning figure with those awesome sleeves and footwear. I find the base looks pretty cool as well with the printed on logo despite it being overall just white and nothing to yap about. Definitely a figure to be looking forward to receiving. I know I am XD

Ah yes, the last two pictures are the best among the set (not that the others aren’t great). It’s like you were able to make Kureha so much prettier than she already is ^^

The figure speaks for itself then, because this was like the lasiest shoot I’ve done in a while. The only experiment thing was trying to simulate the morning sun coming up and shining on her.

If it helps push you over the edge, Kureha does stand out on the shelf since she’s got all of that orange going on.

Yeah, the colors would really brighten up any shelf; she stands out quite a bit.
Too bad my Kureha comes around the end of October to the start of November.

This is the prettiest figure ever
. I came really close to ordering this figure, but since I don’t know anything about the character, I just couldn’t bring myself to buy it.

I wanted to get my hands on Kureha the moment I saw her pictures circulating around the net some 2 - 3 months back. But sad to say I’d prolly have over spent my dosh on all my figurines and games that I can’t even fork out a single cent for Kureha. Sharks~

Can’t see the pics at work atm, but how welll the arms attached on your Kureha? On mine there is are visible gaps where her arms are joined as if they didn’t press them in enough. I’m afraid they’re glued in so it will be a chore fix

There’s a slight visible gap on her left arm where the straps are wrapped around her bicep and the paint kind of strays where it should be. You can see it in one of the pictures. Considering it’s where the straps are, it isn’t too bad…the straps kind of hide the gap there.

She’s got an adorable face to boot, with the killer gaze of hers.
But one thing I don’t like about this Kureha is that the stand seems to be a bit too weak… And plain as well. If it’s a wooden one like Kotobukiya’s I think Kureha might just be the figure of the year ^^;

Is the Koto stand going to be wooden in the final product? The base they show in the promo shots is not often the base that comes with the figure.
