Tuskino Azusagawa and Her Buns
All afternoon, the only thing I could think about was spreading sweet creamy butter all over Tsukino’s hot buns. I tried not to run to her house like a drooling idiot and used all my willpower to keep from howling as I opened the gate to let myself in the back way. Then as I emerged from the bushes, what I saw was a stab through to the heart. Instead of Tsukino leaning against the kitchen counter waiting for her buns to be done, she was in the back yard laying on a lawn chair, wearing a bikini, and getting a freaking tan. What the heck? I didn’t eat anything before I got here because Tsukino always feeds me and anyone else she can find with the amazing stuff she bakes.
Review of Tsukino Azusagawa (Swimsuit Version) from Alter
Tsukino Azusagawa takes off her baker’s outfit and dons a striped bikini for her second figure from Alter, which is sculpted by Saito Fumuki. I’m not familiar with Yakitate!! Japan, but it looks amusing enough, like some sports or fighting anime, but with baguettes instead of beat-sticks. I could deal with that.
As far as swimsuit figures go, I like Tsukino. For me, it’s all about the tummy when it comes to the ya or nay for swimsuit figures. Does it have a nice curve, a gentle slope as the stomach comes to a point between the hips so to speak. Tsukino has a slender build and her curves here are accentuated by a nicely arched back and hips slung to one side, which makes the pose feel a bit more fluid.
Most of the detail sculpting is in her hair, which has a very cool number of rendered strands, though I agree with Shinohai that the front strands look like “straightened pretzels”. The ruffles on her swimsuit are just okay and could stand to have some cleaner molding just to nit-pick.
Tsukino is a free-standing, or free-kneeling figure, but comes with a round base textured to look like sand.

Tsukino is damn hot, you really should go watch the anime. I didn’t buy her, because I was supposed to have gotten her baker uniform version. I wonder if I should just get her.
Awesome pictures though.

beautiful picture as usual, i really like the second last pic, very nice :). Not really familiar with this anime but Tsukino does looks good, the facial expression could have been better though and yeah the front strand does looks thick

She was on my “to buy” list, but finally I decided to keep my money for all the other beautiful figures planned in the next months from Alter and others…
And I don’t know what, but there’s something I don’t really like in this figure ; perhaps her mouth ?
But anyway, if I had more money I wouldn’t mind about it and she would already be on one of my shelves… ^^;

You should watch Yakitate!! Japan if you like improbable comedy
Personally it is on my top 5 fav show. And Tsukino is damn gorgeous, but I prefer her with her Pantasia baker outfits ^^;
Sweet pictures, I especially like the 4th one

Yakitate Japan is something you should watch, it’ll make you love the Tsukino even more. A cute figure indeed, but the face I’m not really liking here. Perhaps if she was smiling a bit then I might like it.

Really sweet, crisp shots of a lovely figure
Yakitate Japan is a nice and interesting watch though I really do wish Tsukino had much, much more screen time. Like bread Vs. Tsukino…. Duh, No question which I’d prefer to see more of ^^b

I do hope that somebody brings it over onto dvd so I can watch it. It just looks like the kind of stupid I like. That 4th shot, is really what this figure is all about, the lines of her body. While the expression doesn’t bother me, I do think that it looks a little better off-axis than it does straight on, like in the 2nd to last shot — there it just seems like she’s thinking about something.

I think that this is the prettiest Tsukino figure I’ve seen.

Amazing photos as always, good sir. Just checked out your Yuki and Azusa shoots as well; always amazes me how you manage to get your shots looking so crisp. I’ve got a long way to go, it seems.
I notice that you’re linking to your photos on Flickr directly. I’m having similar problems, but I thought we were only allowed to link to the photo page. Is it actually alright to link to the images directly? It would be the solution to all my woes.
Otherwise, great job!

I think you’re right. The picture itself doesn’t need to link back to the photo page, but there does need to be a link back somewhere on the page, such as the “view this photo at flickr” link that I have in the photo album section. Right now it’s two clicks from a blog entry to get to the photo page instead of a direct click. I’ll add that direct link tonight.
As far as the larger image link, there’s not a conflict (as I understand the TOS) since the large image is not visible on my site and only visible at its location on a Flickr server.
The status change at Flickr (blocking images for those not logged in) added an accessibility issue. What’s keeping me on Flickr is actually the Flickr Photo Album plug-in for WordPress by Joe Tan. If there was an easier post insert AND automatic gallery plug-in for WordPress, I’d leave Flickr in a second.

She has a great body sculpt and pose but her face is not really appeasing. It’s like “Huh, Super Rats, what are you going to do with that butter?”

Cool, thanks for clearing that up. I’ve been trying to use the code they supply for my blog, but it’s just an awful mess. Unfortunately, I’m using a free Wordpress account, so my customisation is quite restricted.

Did you use different whitebalances on those shots or are the differences in skin color a result of auto levels? Luckily, the belly shot (4th) has a real fleshy tone. It’s also my fav.

on September 28th, 2007
It’s an auto-levels thing. That Tsukino Belly (shot #4) was shot hand held at ISO 320 as opposed to the others which were shot from a tripod at ISO 160 and 200. The extra noise apparent on the ISO 320 shot probably gave it a slightly different color profile than the other shots. Plus, it also has more skin area too so that’s why it looks like a different color, I’m guessing.
I thought about adjusting that shot to be a closer match to the others, but I just liked how it looked with the extra rose color…and I wasn’t motivated enough to manually adjust the other ones to get a slightly closer match to the skin on the Tsukino Belly pic (shot #4).
