-Kaze was released in Japan in May 2007 for 4,600 JPY.
-US Release July 30, 2007:
Pre-Order at RightStuf
She left at midnight. Kaze stay too long, she said while hopping from one foot to the other ready to go. Kaze not know the outside world, how large, how small, how sweet, how spicy, how happy or how sad, Kaze run and won’t stop until Kaze find what Kaze looking for, but Kaze still haven’t decided what Kaze looking for just yet, she said. She smiled and set out on her journey not knowing what’s ahead just knowing that moving forward is alright. She ran down the road, hat and tooth bag flopping behind her.
Kaze run for days. Kaze run so far, run past where road and sidewalk ends into forest of bamboo skewer covered with cold crunchy snow. Kaze see no people. Where did they go and why they no travel? Are they okay standing still? Did they find a happy place? Kaze happy if they are, but Kaze wonder why she only one moving. Is Kaze do something dangerous or wrong? Is something wrong with Kaze?
Of course, something wrong with Kaze! That why Kaze run to other side of world, to find something not wrong, to find happy, to not stay for nothing too long, empty, wishing, waiting, worn-out. Kaze sleepy, too much think, not enough run, so Kaze take nap now, okey dokey! Kaze shorts ripsu now almost like pantsu! Smilie, giggle, zzzzzzz.
Kaze’s Journey Part 2
Kaze find field of flowers color yellow and big like the sun. These sun flowers make Kaze want faster and more run.
Kaze find Saika!
Saika say she no know why Kaze run and Kaze say she no know why Saika stand still, but Saika say she happy she find valley of sun flowers. Kaze talk to Saika for long time, but grow dizzy to keep run around Saika, so Kaze go. Happy Saika find standing still good, but not good for Kaze.
Review of Kaze from Alter
Kaze is one of the more interesting completed pvc figures I’ve gotten in the past couple of months. Wickedly awesome pose and sculpt on this one. Gotaro Takeuchi captures motion with the body sculpt and an innocen looking soul with the facial expression and details. If I had to take points off, I’d say that the paint is only above average. Really, the paint job is only disappointing because it’s not Alter’s usual class-of-it’s-own. For any other manufacturer Kaze’s paint would have to be considered among their best. [EDIT: I think just pointing that out makes the paint job sound worse than I believe it to be. It's top-notch paint, so I'm taking a step back from what I said in order to be fair to this figure as an individual piece.]
With Alter figures, I tend to feel they slack on the bases, having some of the most ho-hum bases in the business. For Kaze, the black plastic base has some raised text. What’s most interesting about the base is the mount, which hopefully addresses the issue of figure warp/lean. When pre-ordering, I was a little worried that the traditional ABS peg base wouldn’t be enough to support a running pose like this, but Alter has inserted a metal peg in Kaze’s leg that fits into a wide support area on the base (basically the shape of the cutout on her foot is the size/shape of the base mount). This support system might be why we’re seeing a slew of one leg poses up for pre-order lately.
I love this figure.

I received mine this morning, and was also quite relieved to see the metal peg
nice pictures!

Ah~ Metal :3
I was also scared about the leaning potential of this figure, but it wasn’t the reason why I didn’t buy it, I have no attachment to the character.
Your photos make me think otherwise tho, the pose does have a certain “appeal” to it. Great story too lol, damn that cute third person talk~ XD

Saika sure loves hangin around those sunflowers
Great review & short story. I hope more companies incorporate a metal peg for figures like this.

This figure doesn’t have much appeal to me so I didn’t buy it. Though at least it’s good to hear they inserted a metal peg to keep her from kissing the ground.

That part was damn funny =D Great story and great photos.
I agree on the base issue. The one of my Ignis figure really fails to impress me. Fortunately, she can stand by her own.

I love the photos, especially the himawari diorama! but I still think it’s better if there’s no saika in that himawari sets :p
and I agree with adun about the figurine, she doesn’t have much appeal/moe factor on her :p and also agree with leaning potential… seems like Alter figure tends to lean faster than my others

nice story and nice photos, i like the shot with Saika. it’s a good thing alter use a metal peg to keep the figure from leaning

Gorgeous photos as always, they bring out her the vibrancy in her costume and pose very well ^^

The metal peg really is a good development. I’ve had Kaze out of the box for over a week before shooting her, so far so good as far as the support is concerned, at least for the short term.
Danny, you mean like a doujin for figure photos? That could be fun.
Akiraman, she’s from the game Jingai Makyo.

I love the decoration you’ve made for first pictures, that’s just awesome this bamboo forest thing
Nice to see that she has a good support. I was worried about that.
I’m just waiting for her now ^^;

ah now that I know that she has a metal peg I can safely make my purchase. Before that during pre-release I though she would definitely lean so I didn’t add her in my list at all.
June 8th, 2007 at 10:02 pm
Woah, that metal peg looks way cool… So now that it doesn’t ben and the ankles, will it bend at the ass?
June 9th, 2007 at 10:43 am
The metal is almost a guarantee that the figure won’t lean, Ilya swimsuit from Fate Stay Night also done by Alter has a metal like this one.
As always your photos are great, once I get my new camera (which will take a while) I’ll try to take some shots like this and of course can’t forget to shoot in a natural environment as well ^^ can’t live without that ^-^

Really nice pictures !
I’m waiting for this figure like Lu-k ; I hope she’ll arrive in France soon

Too bad she is only 1/8 and to know her painting is below Alter’s standards! I’ve ordered mine to pair up with my Ignis since they are from the same game and she is a nice character, of course. I didn’t liked Solid Theater version, I think this one is has more fidelity with the original character by Nio.

It’s still a real good paint job, better than many of the figures I have. If I’m making it sound mediocre, it’s not at all.
June 13th, 2007 at 6:52 pm
Great looking figure and the pose is great, just hope that peg holds it well. I might get it if I get into the anime, helps to know what you’re buying ^-^.

@ AS - Lol. It’s not an anime. *nudge*
