One fine day, Saber contemplated the possible strategic effects on the most recent Grail War had a master other than Shirou summoned her. Saber, not normally one to waste time on useless speculation, began analyzing the course of her quest when she found herself dressed in meido fetish-wear. How did she get to this point and would she walk a prouder path today had a different master summoned her?

GunxSaber

Van is a master that really won’t care too much about the Grail War. Saber would constantly be shopping for mayonnaise.

Master Spike

As master, Spikes favorite duties are laying on the couch. Instead of fighting, Saber would be ordered to find some bell peppers with beef. Not only that, she’d be required to maintain the UJ14 unit he picked up.

“And people call me robotic,” says Saber.

SOS Master

Maybe a female master would be a better master for the Grail War. Haruhi Suzumiya would definitely be a very active master, aggressive in her persuit of The Grail. However, she’s annoying.

Let’s Crash

With OS Idol Winchan as her master, Saber would be stuck on a laptop all day. As comfortable and fanboy-riffic that would be, remaining idle isn’t the strategy Saber is too keen on following. It would seem that the female masters aren’t much better.

Masters these days aren’t what they used to be. Saber then decided that thinking of alternate masters was a poor way to spend time.

Figure Review: Fantasy a Beautiful Maid Saber

Yes, the box text actually says Fantasy a Beautiful Maid Saber. Miki Osaka sculpted this Saber in uniform, which is manufactured by the GoodSmile Company in 1/8 scale. Overall, it’s an attractive figure with a plastic diorama base that does a decent job of hinting at a polished wood floor. Most of the time whenever wood is represented in plastic it looks nothing like wood at all. Two pegs are there to hold Saber in place.

I’m happy with the figure. I like her face because it carries an expression Saber would have. I’m sure some people will find fault with the likeness, but at this point along with the Fate/Stay Night anime I’ve seen so many different scuptors mold Saber and so many different illustrators draw Saber that “on-model” for Saber has a bit of variability in my mind, at least for stand-alone works such as a figure and random wallpapers. I’m not even sure how much of the Fate/Hollow Ataraxia images I’ve seen are official.

Miki Osaka posed Saber in mid-stride with her hands on her hips, looking as if she might be on the outskirts of a daydream. There is a good amount of detail in her maid uniform — soft folds that have a natural appearance and a nice delicate touch on the white ruffles. GoodSmile production values ensured a minimum of manufacturing artifact interference.

Lol pretty creative, I had fun reading the story. Why are we all those penguins from Disgaea though?

Speaking of which, I chose my new avatar. Great feature, your taste in pics is pretty similar to mine so I had a hard time picking one… too many of my favourite characters in there, like Fasalina, Tatiana, Yuki, Murata’s artwork…

In the end I settled for Tatiana.

    Thanks!

And YAY! I was beginning to wonder if the link to the avatar selection was broken. If you can’t see the link, it will show up after you’ve commented twice since I activated the plug-in.

The link text is kind of messed up looking on FF 1.5, but should be below the submit comment button in FF2 and IE6. Not skilled enough to fix it so it shows right in this theme on FF 1.5.

    And the Prinnies…

Very creative photos there. Lately I’ve been too lazy to take photos plus with an oncoming Winter approaching, there aren’t many clear sky days.

Nice pictures as always, that camera is really something, need to invest some money into one of those things, kinda looking at a cannon eos 400d

Great looking pictures. Where did you get that Win-chan from? I sooo want one.

Belela-san, one of the best image quality upgrades you can make is a tripod, even a mini-one. I don’t always use one myself, because I like the flexibility of hand holding the camera, but when I want them sharp — tripod. I’ve been using them more lately. In some ways leaving the camera on the tripod has some clear creative advantages in addition to the image quality boost. I’ve seen your pictures and I think the image quality is fine. If your camera allows you to manually select the aperture you might be able to extend the camera’s usefulness until you get enough saved for your dream camera.

AS, I think I got it at HobbySearch. It’s a cute figure, but it’s not the cleanest (scratches, seams, etc.).

  23. Belela-san Says:

Thx super rats but I didn’t quite get that aperture thing you mentioned. And yes I use my camera in manual mode using almost always 100 exposer (iso), macro-mode and natural light mode for outside pictures.

I just meant that many point and shoot cameras have the tools you’d use on a dSLR, such as controlling the apeture size. By controlling the apeture, you can control the depth of the field of focus, a large apeture of 3.5 gives you shallow focus, while something smaller like f11 tends to have a deeper field of focus. The eye naturally latches onto those parts of a picture that are in focus, so controlling the field of focus becomes a very strong composition tool.

You can do this with a point and shoot. Maybe not to the same extent as a dSLR with a proper macro lens, but point and shoots give people a surprising amount of creative flexibility, more than many suspect, which is really all I’m trying to say. A dSLR rocks, but many point and shoots are pretty good too (and on some occaisions, better).

    very nice shots.
however, how would this be compared to the clayz’s version?
