Akizuki Nagi is a shinigami, a death goddess, a captivating maiden with purple hair, quietly smiling as seconds turn to minutes and expire. Death isn’t supposed to be cute. It’s supposed to be a scary figure, but it does make sense sometimes for death to have a pretty face — could a lonely otaku resist the calling of such a lovely angel? Come sweet death one last caress.

I love this Nagi figure. But, I fall in love with all of these figures, so that’s nothing new or different, just I’ve been waiting for Alter to release Nagi for a long time, so it made me a little more anxious than usual to show her in her best light. I don’t think I can take a good picture of somebody or something if I don’t love something about them.

Nagi Knees

She is gorgeous. Akizuki Nagi is probably my favorite Noizi Ito character designs. I do like purple hair on anime girls. Anyway, the game she comes from is Peace at Pieces, one of those naughty games. Not much else to say about her origins other than the usual sigh about how come eroge get the best figures.

Perversion got the better of me though as I have a folder with like a hundred pictures of her boobs from every conceivable angle and point of focus. Couldn’t believe I took that many (such is the power of underboob). I’m still pretending I can be tasteful with the fanservice, which I think is entirely possible to do, though maybe not with this photo set. Believe me it was like a half hour dilemma on whether or not to include or cut the third close-up on her breasts, which I ultimately decided wasn’t necessary. After that I lost the energy to trim down the rest of the set — I like to keep these pictorials down to the best 10-12 images, but this one is somewhat excessive at 18 images.

Figure Review
Sculptor Morikawa Hiromitsu created a very sexy Death Goddess Nagi for Alter to go along with his sculpt of fellow shinigami Hikaru. While Nagi’s underboob is the most eyecatching feature of her costume, her legs and the high-gloss thigh-highs are the highlight of the sculpt as far as ecchi goodness goes. Of course, a lot of that is owed to Ito’s style of long slender legs for her characters.

Another Nagi

After seeing the Hobby-Don #4 video tour of the GoodSmile Company’s factory in China (summary for non-Japanese speakers provided by RIUVA), I do have a better appreciation for how well Alter, MaxFactory, and GoodSmile figures are built. It pretty much goes without saying, build-wise Nagi is hot as well, though with all of the moving around I’ve done her base is a little lose, but shouldn’t pose a problem left on the shelf. Also, she’s fused to whatever it is she’s sitting on.

The cleanliness of the paint and plastic artifacts is definitely up there. Maybe not quite on the same level as Swimsuit Saber in silky smoothness, but she looks just as fantastic in my regulation Ikea Detolf glass case. I’m really digging the shine of her leggings.

Overall Opinion of the Figure
Putting aside my overriding love of this figure, I will note that the way her head is bent forward and the eye detail makes it difficult to catch her gaze. One has to be looking up at her to lock eyes, which can make Nagi seem cold or expressionless from a few angles. The costume might seem a little goofy as well, but this is an otaku figure, so I accept the goofiness as part of the figure’s charm.

In the end, I think she’s hot.

For some other opinions, visit Danny Choo. He seems to like her, but the reaction among the commenters was mixed.

Did you just spray water on her lol?

Btw, if you’re interested in the normal uniformed Nagi and Hikaru, I can sell them to you.

I saw Nagi in stores here already but the wallet was unmoved. I suspect that with so many other commitments to expenditure nowadays (and being jobless), my ability to buy stuff has really been curtailed.

The Alter Motoko was sold out! Before I even realised it was here. Gah…

I quite like the figure (especially the hair), but not enough to buy it. I do feel guilty about leaving my Hikaru all alone, though.

Now you do realise that she will be the last figure you buy since you’ll be dying soon, lol. Well I didn’t end up buying this simply because I don’t like the costume. I don’t know why I just do. But Nagi has a unique hairstyle that you don’t see very often on figures and that’s one point I like about her.

    You gave her a bath!
I should do that with my figures too.
Great set of pics as usual.

Never heard of the game and I could never suppose she is the Death. Beautiful character and excellent photos!

Thank you for taking a look.

tj han: I wish I had a spray bottle, so I could have had finer water droplets on her. I just dunked her in the tub of water. I do have the GSC school uniform Nagi, but no school uniform Hikaru.

Kurara: You can’t have lonely figures! Hikaru is all alone!

Adun: I love her costume, but I guess that means I like things that are simultaneously goofy and kinky…like a lot of anime.

Grand Master Choo: She actually wound up dirtier after the bath. I had sprinkled some glitter on the water to try and make it all sparkly, but it just wound up looking like dandruff on the water. I’m still finding pieces of glitter on Nagi.

Temugin: I didn’t know about the whole death thing until I pre-ordered the figure. Looking at her, a death goddess isn’t one of the first thirty-one things that spring to mind.

  13. tj han Says:

Oh I don’t see any glitter. That was a failed experiment.

After one of my previous shots, I went out and got a spray bottle.

    Is she riding an i-gallop?

  17. Tsubaki Says:

My Hikaru hates me because I didn’t buy Nagi. Not that I didn’t want to, but I’m broke.

  19. super rats Says:

I had to dump the water to clear out the glitter, because it was making the water look dirty, rather than sparkly. There were random bits of glitter here and there which I cloned out in PS:Elements if I saw it.

But, no wonder she’s got such a flat tummy, she is indeed riding an igallop. Of course Nagi’s version is all tricked out.

Tsubaki: Being broke stinks. Hope you get unbroke. :)

    This is a great figure. Not typical for it’s kind, being from a naughty game. I enjoy the fact that it’s not all out there and in your face. ^^;

    I like your experiment with water. I would have been afraid that I might damage the figure. I wonder if a sugar or salt solution would give more reflection. Might stain the figure though. ^^;

Nice pictures and dumb comments as always. Keep up the good work.

  27. super rats Says:

Water pretty much damages everything if given enough time, but she was only in the water three times for about ten minutes each time, so there wasn’t any visible damage.

Nice shots as usual ! Not really my kind of figure, bur she’s kawaii, and quality is good, nice pick.
