Just for the hell of it I took a few more shots with a dark blue background, stemming from a comment in the main Teana Lanster review. These have a harder light and don’t have any blur/haze effects on them.

hmm i think the light is a lil bit too strong, other than that she does look nice in dark blue background. Should try that background with her jacket off
i like this one better than the first
darker background for her is nice, since I am also using a dark background for her. Agree with ron~, should take some shot with her jacket off using the dark blue background
It gives the figure more presence and power~ it makes her orange hair and guns really pop too.
from the title I thought you bought another one xD
Now there is nothing for me to complain about, I like the hard light and the sharp pictures. Well done. Her gun blades are really cool and pops out, as @Ayu said. That is exactly what you want, I think.
Just gorgeous! Your blog continues to be one of my absolute favourites!
The dark blue and the more contrasty lights makes the gun swords pop out. To make things more contrasty I usually just move the lights really close to the figure and positioning to make some shadows. Anyone have another way to do it?
Susanne, thanks!
I pretty much do it the same way, except I use an external flash on wireless instead. So instead of moving the lamp closer and further I just control the power output on the flash.
WOW!!!
I do like!!!!
I should do a shoot of her real soon…
Hm, the light does need a little diffusion; in third picture, the shoulder’s got some light reflecting off it and makes it look plasticky.
how cute!!
