Teana Lanster rushed up the steps, twin-tails swaying, past the bouncer and the chumps waiting to get inside, puffed up her cheeks and blew out her pent up breath, popping her lips like a gum bubble bursting, into the late night air. The basement club that she left, the sounds the chatter and the bass line a laughing echo in her head, the thick air, the collective exhale and evaporating sweat of two hundred people, a steam that stretched into the cool night, it was gone. Cars and their exhaust smelled sweet as she pulled in the cold air, pushing the last life out of the club scene she just fled. She felt so light for a moment breathing the fumes, but grew to feel heavy. Why do I always do this, she thought. It was too late to go back.
Review of Teana Lanster from Alter
I haven’t gotten many of the Nanoha figures Alter is releasing, but I can’t pass up a dual pistol wielding twin tail girl. Haven’t seen any Nanoha, but I assume twin tails = tsundere, yeah, whatever. Cute figure is cute.
She’s a 1/7 scale figure, which is probably my favorite figure scale, made by Alter. Like all the Nanoha figures, Teana comes with a large base with her name and almost a trading card like description on it. Teana don’t need no stinking base to stay upright, which is always a good option when shelf space is a premium.
Her guns can turn into gun-swords, which look very cool. Instead of coming with optional gun parts, Alter opted to have each one of her arms an optional part, so you swap out her arms instead of just the weapon to get the variant. I like this option as it makes sure the weapons stay put and fit right.

I’m slightly worried by the fact that you hit the nail so accurately on the head simply by looking at her character design . . .
Well, it’s good character design and then representation by the sculptor if I get the general idea just by looking. I think it’s the facial expression really and the hairstyle as support.
As much as I like dual pistol wielding chicks, Teana just isn’t for me. Having actually seen the Nanoha StrikerS series she is probably my most disliked character. Still great photos as usual.
nice photos
sadly I canceled my pre-order for this figurine. going to get her once A$ is getting better.
yeah she’s a tsundere character
She’s is kinda tsundere in StrikerS so yeah twin tail = tsundere hahha. I got her myself as well, my review should be up soon. I like the close-up in shot no 5 ^^
Twin-tail FTW. Teana is on my pending list. Need to save up in order to get her.
Nice pictures, you’re making me wish I’d ordered her now. Maybe I’ll end up going back and getting her one of these days, I really do like this figure.
I wish she looked THIS GOOD IN THE SHOW.
Still, nice pickup.

Great get-to and great shoot!
What did you use to get that glowing white background?
Great shoot, as always! You’re making me really regret not having pre-ordered her now.
That fourth pic is awesome. Nice pics all around too! She’s a really cute figure!
Nice pics. I was strongly tempted to get this figure despite not liking StrikerS or caring much for Teana herself… the action pose is good, though, and this figure does make her look so much better than in the show, as omo mentioned
All the Nanoha costume designs are a bit plain, but they’re at least plain in an attractive way.
Still, despite not liking StrikerS, I got Rein and Hayate + Mini!Rein (which, by the way, for any readers interested, is even bigger than you might expect from any official pictures: box was big and she takes up a whole shelf by herself that can usually hold 5 or more with ease) and I like both of those, especially the Hayate, so I might try to find this one to make a three a crowd since preorders didn’t sell out super fast and it’s actually going for pretty good price on kidnemo right now.
It’s also cool Teana can come off her base… Rein is stuck to hers despite her upright pose and Hayate, well, her’s is removable but she’s can’t do anything with her base -_-;
Re: Swapping arms. I picked up Koto’s Octavia figure and it also does the armswap thing. It’s really difficult to swap the arms though; they snap in really tight (which is good, just had me worried at first haha). But I agree, for Teana’s pose, it’s probably better than having loose accessories.
(excuse the poor picture quality, took all those in a hurry for a friend the other day and it was like 1 AM and dark, heh)
Teana looks great in person, especially when the guns are in sword mode. Very noticeable in a crowd of figures.
Zyl, the glowing with background is just plain paper with more light shining on it that the figure. Exposure compensation + 1 to +1.7 EV.
Veers, it seems like all Nanoha figures are beasts with their bold poses that take up a bunch of space — they’re Detolf killers! Teana’s arms are pretty easy to swap and fit secure as it should.
Nice introduction! Are you a book author? If not, you could easily be.
I love the stance, it’s much better than the pose of movic. The quality seems to be the same. Colors, clothes… they look equal, which is nice. I also like the approach to have optional arms instead of optional weapons.
About the photos … I do not think white on white gives the best contrast, but the pictures are sharp as always. The last shot looks the best, because of the color (I think).
I agree with the contrast comment. A dark blue background would really suit the figure well, since she has orange hair, which is a complimentary color. I went with white mainly to make the hair have more visible impact.
With a dark blue background her white clothes would really be set off with the dark blue all around her. I just felt like doing something less dark since the last two shoots I did, Saber and Pixy Hiyori, both featured dark color backgrounds and higher contrast lighting. Now I have a hankering to take a couple of shots that way, since it probably would set Teana off the best. I might do that tonight.
Very nice pictures. Would like to see in Happy Soda Vol.2 if that’s ever coming!
I love Alter…might consider buying this figure.
Stare~~~~~~
I love the shoot!!!!!!!
I should really consider on doing a shoot on her…
She basically is the tsundere character of StrikerS!!!!!
Lovely figure, filled with dynamics and action. Passed on this one but will get her someday no doubt but first I have others to get specially the AlphaxOmega 1/8 Sheryl Nome which will be launched this year
I have an absolute dislike for the Nanoha Series but when I see gun wiedling girls my heart makes a jump ^^
Was the background in the last picture printed with a flower pattern?

Blowfish, the paper is kind of rough, so the way the light is angled on it, if in focus would look very splotchy. There’s no pattern, but it’s not very uniform due to the texture of the paper and the manufacturing.
Despite not being a huge fan of Teana in StrikerS, she is quite cute by her own rights, twin tails ftw. I am take note your for photographic tutorial and hoping someday I would be able to take pictures of my own collection
i think i liked teana and subaru a lot more after seeing alter’s releases ^^;;;
love her pose… the base still makes me cry though (they’re practically releasing the entire cast, they could’ve done some ultimate gattai base uberness!)
meronpan, full agreement on that. It’s not like they didn’t know they’d be doing this, so they could have done something where all the bases add up to something great. It would give people some incentive to collect all of them, though you’d have to be pretty dedicated to do that since there’s quite a few of them.
