Sayne kept his eyes on the battle aftermath instead of turning away when he heard his servant, Saber, approach from behind. She stopped and kept silent, giving him a moment. The sun hung low and continued to fall, darkening late afternoon down to twilight so that the men and women salvaging and scavenging were silhouettes, dark shadows shambling over corpses. Sayne stared into the sun. If he stood on the other side of the battlefield and watched the vultures prying gear from dead men’s hands, they would be bathed in golden sunlight. He collected himself, a battlefield swathed in golden light, that was not his perspective. There were only to Magus left and he and Saber still had much to do.
Review of Saber from Gift
The main attraction here is finally getting Saber in armor after a string of non-armored Saber figures. Saber in armor was much desired that I ordered it even though both faces that come with the figure are pretty awful. Now that the PVC version is here, nothing really has changed. The armor rocks and the faces suck. It comes with an over-large mirrored base, which takes up a lot of shelf/desk space without really needing to.
Other Stuff
I think the armor and costume details are enough to keep the hideous faces somewhat in check. The less anime looking face has some major eye alignment issues, so I’ll stick to the anime face. This really makes me look forward to GSC’s Saber Lily version.
Another review at Foobarbaz.

I’m glad to see a kinda bad review of her , because i think the faces and heads are really bad , especially the hair :/ . The quality is quite low compared to the armor and that’s juste sad …
Still the armor looks awesome and i would have buy her if she wasn’t that little … i love big figures ^^
Anyway , great pics like always , and like you i’m waiting for Lily version
How could they have done one heck of an armor and completely mess up the face??? I don’t really understand…Oh well I think Saber Lily will have to fulfill my wishes of an armored saber
The body is great but the faces are a little weird. I think that the anime face was added to please the fans and the other one is suppose to be a “realistic” rendition of saber.
the armor is awesome and the faces suck, I agree with you there. I might have ordered this one if they didn’t do such a weird job on the faces.
The amour is a YAY but the faces are simply NAY. If only the faces are done nicely, this saber will be one of the best, IMO. Nevermind, we still have Saber Lily. XD
hmm we are getting this Saber for the same reason, the awesome looking armor, fortunately for me the anime face is still acceptable. Love the first picture, is that really a floor ?
Armor ok, face bad … indeed. The armor, sword and dress looks awesome. I love the armor scales. I certainly hope no one finds that auntie smile. … Well, if it weren’t for the face I would buy it, but for now I wait…
figure.
@Chappy can’t we ‘just’ place Saber Lily’s face on this great body/armor
Overall, the armor did it’s justice over the ugly face where most ppl thought it’s still worth buying. That armor is must eye-popping. 0_0
cancel my order coz of the same reason..
the detail and armor definitely awesome…. but the face is too scary
I dont think that anybody ordered her for the face.Everybody I know ordered her for her armour and its her major selling point.Im glad i preordered her ^^
Im in with Otaku Dan about the faces: I think the artist wanted to create a realistic Saber and they added the Anime Face to not turn off the fans in the end.I think the faces turned out this bad since the sculptor had to work on two heads instead of one.
Overall its a very solid entry from Gift into the figure world.
Hope mine arrives soon
The faces are what put me off from this Saber and I’m not really that much of a Saber fan.
very nice photos!
I put pre-order for this figurine when it was announced, but canceled.. main reason was.. her face.. yeah even though I’m a saber fan..
I can’t wait for saber lily, going to be the best saber figurine ever
The minute I noticed this figure over at Danny, I knew something was off. Everything is just gorgeous, but why the face? Why? Oh, the horrors!
I can imagine GSC picking this up (the armor part) and making a 1/6-scale figure with an equally awesome anime face. Then again, at least we will be having the Saber Lily to bring us to love Saber again… ^^
When the actual pictures came out, I thought it was a bootlegged version because of her face. But later found out it was the real deal. Overall, it is the level of detail of her suit that makes this figure amazing.
The armor detail is extremely great!
I’m one of the few that actually liked the “realistic” Saber face in the prototype shots. The eyes were almost glass-like. It’s a shame to see how badly the realistic face turned out in the retail version of the figure. It doesn’t look good at all!
The anime face still looks decent but her eyes are so BIG. At least the armor is still amazing.
No likey the face
. The armor is awesome, but that face is unforgivable, seriously! I would love to get the GSC’s Saber Lily version, but I guess I will just have to wait for your pics on that one.
Oh dear, I hate to repeat everyone else’s sentiments but dear god those faces are horrid. Everything else is pretty nice though.
I was surprised they added an anime-like face. Surprised and happy. I would have ordered this Saber even if they hadn’t included the extra head because I just love the dress, the beautiful skirt and the armor.
The sculptor, who made the realistic face, Toda Satoshi did a dark Saber for… I think Solid Theatre and that one just simply looks god awfull. Again, the dress, the colours are all amazing, but the eyes are wierd and her mouth just scared me. I still don’t understand how he could have found it decent while making it. I just couldn’t get over it and passed on that figure.
I actually liked the prototype of the realistic face and didn’t care much for the anime one, shame the final product rather screwed up the first face – at least the anime face is somewhat acceptable. Still didn’t deter me from keeping my preorder, the armour is just too good. Thank goodness for GSC’s Saber Lily indeed!
Nice Saber…
I feel the face is a bit off…somehow…
The first one is fine….but the other one is a bit off I feel…
The detail on this figure though is crazy…

Mine’s coming soon… but agree on the whole
ARMOUR = GODLY
FACE = FUGLY
Least the anime face is a bit better than the realistic face, but that’s not saying much. Still another Saber figure added to my collection. Now I await for the great Saber Lily to be release.
I really like the work done on her dress but the face does not please me at all.
Aye, face aside, that’s a lovely, lovely figure.
Look at FBB review, I have to think that a lot of people are being way critacal of the faces. Sure they’re not quite what we woudl expect after the job on the armor but the pics at FBB ain’t bad. I can’t wait to get mine. But I must say that there are a lot of people saying the same thing so you can’t all be wrong. But I do hope that more people will judge the figure once they have it (in hand) as many are seem to be going by reviews and pics so far.
The armor is sweet and nicely detailed. Though I don’t like the smiling face lol, the slightly angered one looks more natural to me
. Does the armor really shine under bright light or a bit dull?
It has a metallic shine to it.
