Even after six months Pixy Hiyori still had problems with the common tongue. Her main problem was word order. The structure of her native language was almost the complete reverse of the common structure. So each morning, when the maids came in to dress her, Pixy Hiyori recited all of their actions while clothing her to practice thinking and speaking in common. When the maid slid her leggings on, Pixie would say the leggings were sliding over her foot, then over her knee, the pumpkin headdress rested on her head, etc. Pixy paid particular attention to not call the codpiece between her legs a “piece of cod”. The last time she flipped codpiece the maids laughed for several minutes, causing Pixy to be late for the King, and the maids to be disciplined by the head mistress. Even though the maids laughed at her and despised her for being so close to the King, as some of them no doubt used to be in her position as the King’s taster, Pixy made sure to be careful with her words to spare them a beating.
Pixy Hiyori from GoodSmile
I forgot I even ordered Pixy Hiyori, so I can’t really say why I ordered the figure, but it was a GoodSmile thing from the Chu x Chu Idol series so it didn’t bug me to see the shipping notice. As much as a rail against cast-off in general, I’ve still got otaku tendencies, so I could at least look forward to the cheap thrill of unwrapping. The costume skirts the snag most cast-off figures encounter — clothing thickness. Since Pixy’s clothes are basically a bunch of belts the cast-off looks good both off and on. Nothing needs to be compromised to accommodate this gimmick. The legging cast-off leaves a bit of an obvious seam, but it really doesn’t bother me that much my eye doesn’t tend to rest there.
The important parts are all tip-top: eyes, check; eyes, check; hair paint, awesome; molding artifacts are unavoidable, but better than average; base has a design; interesting outfit; and, a sweet pose that twists and curves nicely. Support pegs in the base are a little suspect, being a little shallow, so might not be that secure as turning the figure while taking pictures the figure was slipping off the pegs. Not worried about warp, rather about peg snappage since her pumpkin headdress is a little on the heavy side.
Pixy is good, but that’s not a surprise. If you meant to pick this up, but had to hold-off for one reason or another this post is a reminder.
Other Stuff
Those strands are one of those cheap and cheesy fiber optic lamps that I’ve had since college. I don’t even think it works anymore. Wouldn’t generate enough light to glow over the lights shining on Pixy. It’s old. There was so much dust on it that I had to clean Pixy after the threads touched her. Also had to clean up my spelling on “Pixy” as I kept writing “Pixie”, which was particularly annoying when renaming my full-res files.
Since I didn’t do any full cast-off shots, I’ll direct the curious to Foobarbaz and Exelica-Meteor. I know, I’m a bad person for not documenting Pixy in a state of undress.

Awesome pics , this background goes so well with her !
Glad you love her ^^
Thanks for linking but this time my pics are really bad , not worth linking to
And reading your review made me realise that i was a little too mean in mine :p

This figure is great for one type of photography that normally figure lovers don’t do, I just noticed it now, she’s great for artistic nude photography if you have a macro lens.
I’m a fan of ChuxChu Idol stuff but I can’t get all the figures I want. Pictures are great no doubt about that, the third picture counting from below really hits the spot
She looks pretty good with her clothes on, which aren’t really that much of clothes to start with. Great pictures as usual ^^
Hiyori is beautiful and your photos made her look even more alluring.
she really is amazing, i’m hoping that since she’s cast off that people won’t buy her as much and then she’ll go on sale! if not then i’ll end up snagging her anyways
that figure is pretty nice and the photos are great, I would get her but there is a part of me that does not want to
you are as great as ever >_< great photo
i hope mine coming sooner
I am not much of an ass man, but that’s a pretty sexy figure. Not sure I care for the absurdity of her clothes, though.
I only get figures which I know and unfortunately, she doesn’t fall under that category. In addition, I’m not a huge fan of cast-off figures as I leave them cast-on for display.
Well, I better because the next morning I will see her in the bin thanks to my sis. anti-cast-off policy. lol
Preordered after I’ve seen how good the prototypes were. GSC is definitely upping notches in terms of quality. But as with most figures, no matter how good they are, they tend to get screwed by their bases. So fortunately Pixy comes with a pretty acceptable one. I remembered the horror of Reinforce’s. zomgasp >_>
No spare cash now, so I guess I’ll be getting her after Chinese New Year…
I do say this is one awesome figure!!!!!
I’m still waiting on mine sadly…I want her bad!!!!!!
Awesome photos as always!!!!!!
James, I’ve been trying for a while to find a good time to use those strands for a background. I could also be too nice in my review, besides your pictures are better than you think.
Belela-san, there are quite a few good figures for this. I usually take quite a few photos for these reviews, about half of which are of the artistic nude variety, which are more about generating tone, composition, and on and on. Some of those shots I figure nobody is really interested in viewing. Maybe I’ll go back and make a post of images like that which didn’t make it into these pictorial reviews.
Persocom, beautiful people don’t need clothing.
ELTboy, GoodSmile is doing great work with the Chu x Chu line of figures…I hope they make more.
Dancing Queen, it does seem that cast-offs are less popular. In theory I think the feature is great, just it practice is often meh. If done right, all ero based figs should be cast-off. I kind of object to it on characters from non-ero games though, which is really arbitrary and illogical, but I’m not a logical person.
Otaku Dan, yeah I feel the same way a lot of times. There’s always figures I wish I had, but not enough to spend the cash or just seem a little out there.
Vixion, the waiting is the part that kills me.
digitalboy, absurdity and a nice ass are the spice of life.
Optic, your sister actually throws away figures she deems too pervy? Ouch. My sister is sort of into figures and she sometimes bugs me when I don’t post for over a week, but I hear you. Sometimes I think to myself, I hope she doesn’t see this post.
Leefe, I’d sort of been getting away from GSC stuff since they began focusing more on nendos. One thing GSC has long done better than others is doing something interesting with their bases and now that the rest of their craft is knocking on the door of MF and Alter, I see myself buying more from them. That said, it is something the figure industry needs to work to improve, especially with these things rising in price all the time. Now that they are almost 2x the price they were three years ago, it starts to feel like a gyp to get a crappy base.
Rin, definitely a good one to have in the collection. Love this line of GSC figs.
She has a really nice behind ^^
Concerning Castoffs im gonna quatoe myself from exelica meteor:
The Old Castoff Story…
I usually display my figures fully clothed and its a pain to me when i have to castoff figures to remove the plastic. Most castoffs arent done good either making figures look fat or simply beeing ugly.I think this castoff is still on the “okay” side.It isnt really bad but it isnt nice either.
I just experienced the comfort of magnets to cast off figures.Thats the way it should be done!
Likewise, I’m not too comfy with cast-offs – mostly on account of that I display them, and having naked plastic women in a display cab is… not that good an idea.
Yeah, it’s largely a five second piece of amusement and gives you options when taking pictures for a figure pictorial, but other than that costume is an important part of character design, so I can’t see removing it altogether.
I don’t usually get full cast-off figure, but she’s too cute to pass up. Now just waiting for my imouto to bring her home from Sg for me. Since GSC has release both Pixie and Chuchu and wonder if they will release Chua Churam as well.
the photos make me want to buy this one..
awesome photos and very nice photo angle there
better if got full cast off tho :p hehe

Just love this figure the minute I see it. No need to cast off to describe its beauty, but its figure (no pun intended!) is what defines it. The curves and such…
Beautiful photoshoot as usual, super-rats! Love it!
I’m so torn on this figure. I love her character design but wish she at least had some optional bit of clothing to cover that butt of hers. I’ve got a few near-nude figures in my collection (Shunya Yamashita’s Karin bust, Kotobukiya’s first 1/8 Blanc Neige) but for some reason Hiyori’s lack of clothes really bugs me.
Your photos are simply magnificent! The background color softens the lines of Pixie and gives a romantic charm to the whole.
