Finished off Lucky Star volume three the other day, so that’s about half of the series. I did not expect to find myself enjoying the opening song, but I do, or it could also be that I think the opening animation is kind of fun as well.
For me Kagami is the most interesting of the four characters, since Konata is enough like me (especially with regard to cell phone use, and my cell phone is in fact at home right now, while I’m not), Tsukasa is a space cadet, and Miyuki doesn’t get enough lines to really shine.
When I’m watching Lucky Star, I’m watching the whole disc in one sitting and it goes by pretty quickly in spite of missing a plot or even much character development so far. I guess being a fly on the wall listening to idle chatter can be amusing enough, which itself is amusing to think about, especially if you’ve ever taken or read any creative writing class or how-to write fiction books. This type of nothing happening is usually frowned upon, though I wouldn’t exactly say that Lucky Star is a show about nothing as some like to say.
My enjoyment level has remained consistent through each episode.

<3 kagamin! i forget when they’re first introduced but the store employees are also awesome ^_^ Are you enjoying the ED? At first when they switched away from the karaoke i was disappointed but didn’t take long before I was looking forward to more shiraishi antics
Lucky Star FTW ^^
I usually don’t like this type of shows but this one is awesome
Kagami is the best ^^
Funny to read everywhere all this enjoyement for Kagami. I don’t like her that much, since she has such a classical role. I prefer when she is dealing with her sister more than when she is shouting at Konata. And well, I am definitely more a Tsukasa fanboy ^^
I understand what you mean though, but you’ll see… Tsukasa becomes more interesting in the second half of the show (at least that’s what I think ^^)
Still, Konata provides the best laughs.
I’m waiting for the boxset to come out so I can give Lucky Star a 2nd run in English dub. ^^
I like those scenes with Kagami and Tsukasa as well. It shows a different side of Kagami, rather than the one we see most often who calls Konata nuts. I think Kagami is popular because she’s a version of the ideal girlfriend — willing to go along with otaku stuff without being as bad as you are (not otaku but understands), is responsible, willing to help out, and has a softer side.
I love Lucky Star…it sure would be nice to rewatch it some time. Konata has some of the most awesome lines in the series ;P
Yes, the Tsundere character <3
Lucky Star is useful for me as I often watch it to relax before I do my art or writing…
I can see that. There are some shows that are great to have in the background while doing things like drawing or on the computer editing photos for a review.
I’ve seen parts here and there ( when its screening on late night tv ) but never followed the entire series. Maybe when I have time more time I can rent the dvds…
