Hikaru proves Alter is the king among the players in the completed PVC anime girl figure market. She is a line drive over the centerfield wall. This figure is exquisite in every respect from likeness, to sculpt, to pose, to paint, to build quality and easily stands among the finest Alter has released.
Hikaru stands with her hip cocked and her hand cannons, Lies ready to shoot and Truth held close to her. It looks like a breeze has caught hold of her cloak, skirt, and scarf. From all angles the pose is balanced and looks confident — there is not a bad angle on this figure, an excellent sculpt (the slideshow includes a full figure turnaround).
All of the elements of the figure have lines that flow very well.
Nit-pickers could complain that she’s sighting with the wrong eye, but really, only amatuers use the sight. Hikaru has Truth and Lies! She’s winking! So, go ahead punk…make her day. Also, note the lack of paint debris in her hair.
The original character designer for Hikaru was by Noizi Ito, who is about as hot as you can get these days (Shana, Haruhi). My only exposure to this character is from a few pictures seen on a couple of image boards. However, I feel that sculptor Morikawa Hiromitsu brings Hikaru to life in this figure, the translation of the character from two dimensional art to three dimensions, very good.
Details on the clothing and firearms are clean. Her clothing has striping that maintains a sharp line and maintains a consistent width throughout. In the picture below you can see Truth has a good amount of groove detail. There are mold lines on her arm, but really only visible on the under side of her left arm. The lighting I’m using does emphasize the mold lines, making them more noticeable than under normal room light.
A thigh holster! At least, that’s what I think it is.
Saturn rings orbit Hikaru’s ankles. And are those boots made of Real Corinthian Leather? ^_O She has two guns, but only one holster. The one holster seems to be part of the character design though, since the illustration I saw for this character had only one holster as well, but still where does she keep her guns? Eh, it’s best not to think of these things if the mismatch looks cute as it does here.
The figure does have one part I would classify as ugly, and that’s her right hand. It’s a slightly different color than the rest of her skin and the paint application is sloppy. However, under normal room light and from a normal viewing distance, it’s not apparent.
I just hope my photographs convey how much this figure rocks.
P.S. I would be derelict in my duty if I failed to mention that her skirt is removeable.

Hawt. My bro got me this for my birthday! w00t!
This figure is just simply very well done. I love the character designs by Noizi Itou. The sculptor really captures the essence of Hikaru in this one.
It’s a REAL shame that a Shana figure of comparable quality is not on the market (yet). I’d jump at the chance to get a Shana figure if it was as well done as this one.
Noizi Itou for the win!
Glad you’re a fan of Hikaru and of Itou! This is one of my favorite figures. And yes, for all of the Shana figures out there, why hasn’t a really really good one been made?
Thanks for stopping by.
Bwahh!!
I can’t hold it in! The Maxfactory Shana is just too much! I’m so excited they’re coming out with a good-looking Shana!
Now… Hobbylink… must hunt them down until they let me order it… hunt…
[...] She’s sculpted by Morikawa Hiromitsu, wearing her death cloth attire and holding her twin guns Truth and Lies. Good Smile Company release a version of her in normal attire as well and also sculpted by Morikawa Hiromitsu. I prefer the one by Alter though, the costume is just amazing and it’s the first thing that caught my eyes when I saw photos of her at super rats’s blog. [...]

I do agree I haven’t really seen a well done Shana up till now. Might be a little picky but afterall it’s an expensive hobby ^^;
Really great photoshoot btw. You really captured the essence of Hikaru’s transformation on 2D-to-3D-and back to 2D. =D
