It’s like half a year since I decided I’d put together an anime figure photo book, but a week ago I started it up again and the interior is ready to upload to Lulu.com, who I’ll be using for printing. All that’s left is deciding which cover to use.
Part of the holdup was I was over thinking it instead of just putting together a collection of my favorite pictures. The other part was when looking back at some of those older pictures that I thought were pretty, I could see all of the crappy things I never noticed then.
Six months is a long time and figure blogging scene has changed in that time, so I’m thinking this ship has passed, but I still wanted to finish out the process.
It’s 68 pages and just called HappySoda. I’ll probably get rid of the .com part on the cover. There will be a free PDF available, so you don’t have to buy it to take a look. It will probably take 2-3 weeks to get my proof back, so it’s still a while.

A photobook…now THAT’s not a bad idea. I’d actually love to buy one, especially to show my friends who don’t follow aniblogs and aren’t even aware of the existence of figure photography, so I’ll be awaiting your release!

Depending on mail costs, I’ll actually consider bying it since I’ve drooled on your photos for quite some time. If these two are your options for the cover, I’d go with Alice, since then the title is more apparent and… titleish. On the other pic it looks to me more like a tattoo…

Interesting idea for a photobook. Just might get a physical copy as well as you do some of the best figure photos I’ve seen on the net. (will depend on the budget at the time).
Oh I too vote for Alice for the cover, has a better balance and the title stands out better.

There’s about 6 or 7 spots where I say something, but there isn’t commentary on everything in there.

Definately Alice cover. The white is a nice and clean atmosphere, and the Yukanaria one has one eye blurred that’s really distracting.
Got a price yet? It’d make a good coffee table book.

does it include behind the scene look at how the photos are taken? camera settings, tips etc?
It’s meant to be a collection. In a few places I did explain in general terms what certain shots were trying to accomplish, what went into them, or what I was trying to do with it or what I learned. I wouldn’t call those things instructional, though.
Tutorials are probably better for a blog post anyway, where people can ask questions if they have any. That 90 second video tutorial I did for the shadow lighting taught me the power of video for tutorials, but they’re way time intensive. Video opens it up to people who aren’t fluent in English. They can see it.
I’ll still buy one when it comes out

Alice looks more in your style and about the art. Yukanalia is more attractive for me because she is in touch with viewer but something is missing. Maybe some border for this cover?
