After laying on the thing for half an hour, she discovered that her couch was vying for the title of most uncomfortable couch in the world. It was hot, a real conversation piece, but definitely not made for curling up in. She expected that though. What’s sexy usually isn’t all that comfortable.
Review of PSE Product 01 CDB Chair by Beagle
This figure is from one of Range Murata’s more well known images, appearing on either the cover or the interior of Character Design Bible a couple of years back — don’t recall off the top of my head. Seeing as I’m a quite a fan of Murata’s illustrations, it sort of biases me in different directions when looking at this figure.
On the one hand, I love the details in the clothing, those holes all around the trim of her leggings and her top, plus the metal fasteners, which are probably pretty impractical and uncomfortable but are luscious visually. The sculpt also captures that cool softness of the girl in the illustration — she’s definitely toned, but she doesn’t look like her skin is hard.
The downside likely comes from this being a 1:10 scale figure. Her hair and her face, the paint used to detail them lacks finesse or the style of the Murata artwork. If those were rendered better, I’d rate the figure higher.
Face and hair are among the most important aspects of a figure and maybe since this is such a small figure, it isn’t a fatal flaw. The overall mood coming from the character, clothing, and base are enough to overcome it. It’s really an awesome base, that couch she’s laying on. It’s well detailed just like her clothing.
Other Stuff
The couch does make the figure somewhat of a space hog, but it’s worth the space to me because it’s just an interesting visual detail. Hope the shots aren’t too dark for some monitors. It looked really dark on my work computer, which means it’s calibration is way off. Either that or what I’m using to calibrate the screen on my laptop is way off.
This is definitely a line I’d like to see continue and hopefully at a larger size. It’s labeled as PSE-01, so who knows if there’ll be another. The releases in between Murata based figures is just way too long.
Man, the lighting effect you chose is supberb. Talk about good mood setting. The detail is supberb and she’s hotly dressed to boot.
Not my style of fig, but I can appreciate it’s sexy points nonetheless!
Ah the Couch shes lying on gives the Figure just the right touch.Its a nice dynamic (can i say that?) pose.Makes me wanna hang around my couch(with her)^^
Too Bad shes a 1/10.I hope further releases get atleast a 1/8 treating

I had this figurine on my pre-order before, but canceled it
main reason because she is 1:10 scale.. if only they make the price in the 3k yen range 
I hope there will be more figurine (bigger ones!) based on Range Murata art

I stopped getting these PSE figures even though my Range Murata fanboyness tells me to. They are just way way way too tiny and expensive to be worth it.
Is there a reason why this figure is labelled as 01? Beagle has produced several Murata figures in the past (the label is PSE PRO IIRC). Or for some reason they decided to rename the series and start over?
The figure is definitively nice, but small, as usual for the PSE PRO series. UJ-14, Skipper and Ribbon Style are still my favorite, but this figure is not too far off.
Unfortunately this is the kind of figure that can be seen the wrong way by an outsider. A shame, because the Murata-ish details make a nice presence.

I know exactly what you mean about a biased opinion with figures that you purchase. For me, every figure that I buy I usually can’t find that many bad points about them. Even harder when it’s an all time favourite character.
The addition of the chair certainly makes this a great figure. Shame it takes up space.

I didn’t even realize she was 1/10 scale when I ordered her. Would that have stopped me? I’m not sure. I’ve always been fond of this illustration, going so far as to import this issue of Character Design Bible (vol 3).
Seiken, I’m don’t know the reason for seemingly restarting the numbering. It’s called “PSE Products*01 CDB Chair”. Seems odd since the same company released the other ones.
Adun, we do buy them thinking it will look great and I usually choose to be optimistic and gloss over any flaws I might see unless it’s just too hard to ignore, which usually isn’t the case.

Beautiful shots as always, the lighting really enhances the mood of the figure. I was fortunate enough to pick up UJ-14, Butterfly and Ribbon Style at very discounted prices, hopefully this figure will follow in a year or so. As much as I love Murata’s work, 1/10 scale at that price is quite a put off ^^;;
Range Murata DFC goodness. Cough. Wave figures are very expensive for the small scale, but the quality is good enough. All that really matters is whether or not you like it though.
