The sun bleached the sand so white that it hurt to look at the beach. Everyone else already left, but he stayed behind so that Haruka didn’t have to catch up with the group all by herself. The house was quiet for a change. Actually, the old house creaked at every little thing, so if it was quiet that meant Haruka probably fell asleep or something else that had nothing to do with getting ready for the beach. He thought about just letting her be, since he liked looking at the beach more than he liked being on it, but if they didn’t show up that would start rumors which would end his career as a photographer before it got started. He’d be blacklisted for ruining the reputations of budding idols.
With that thought, he went upstairs to get her moving along. He knocked on her door.
“Hey, what’s going on?”
“I don’t know,” she said. “None of these suits look good on me.”
“Well, if none of them look good, then don’t wear one.”
“Haha. Not funny.”
“Didn’t your agent pick one for you?”
“It makes me look, I dunno, fat.”
“Full in all the right places. Haruka, we’d never make you look bad. Your shoot will be totally hot.”
“I KNOW!!!”
“And that’s a problem?!”
“Sort of. It’s different when you’re the one in the pictures.”
“It’s not that bad. You’ll love them and so will everyone who reads the magazine. We’ll do a shoot here and if you don’t like them well we’ll just do another one. Coming in, OK?”
“OK, but you said the same thing last time.”
Review of Amami Haruka from the GoodSmile Company
This attractive figure captures Haruka after she’s kicked off her shorts as she’s running toward the ocean with her cell phone in hand, at least that’s what I think that penguin is supposed to be, though it might be something else from the anime that I don’t know about. It’s a sweet and pretty figure with some very nice shapes, which is just another way of saying “nice ass”. Just kidding. I love that tummy and her legs though. I’m sure I’ve said it before, but swimsuit figures to me are all about the tummy and back.
As far as character design goes, Haruka is just okay, which is fine since I think she’s supposed to be the normal nice girl as far as her personality goes. Her hair in this figure is a little of the boring helmet side, though the large double bow action helps to keep it interesting. It’s really the pose that elevates and brings out the personality here, it’s just fantastic.
Haruka comes attached to the base, which is a disc textured to look like sand. It comes with two decorations, a pair of shorts that she’s just cast off, and a crab, which I guess is supposed to represent some region in Japan. Though normally crabs aren’t an accessory you want with an attractive female, it works I guess. Build quality is about par for GoodSmile. Seen better. Seen worse.
Oddly enough, I feel more confident that this one toe mounting has a better chance of staying upright than many typical peg in the foot designs. It’s hard plastic and feels very similar to the Lilics one toe Iroha that’s as upright as can be after one whole year of ownership.
There’s another view done by Danny Choo, but you all already knew that.

Probably one of the best Haruka figures out there. Her pose is really dynamic, I hope they put a very strong plastic (ABS ?) on that support leg otherwise caput.
The wrinkles on the lower part of the bikini are really good and show us how good the quality of figures is growing.
She is a great figure, and I usually don’t like swimsuit girls at all, so that’s saying something.
Great photos with some interesting views, love the close ups XD
My only reason to dislike this figure is just a childish hatred towards the anime version of iDOLM@STER. It’s a pretty stupid excuse, but I dispise how they butchered up the game characters for the anime =/
kyaaa Ribbon-chan! such a nice body ^^;
But I kindda join Aya opinion, since I am more and more in love with the original idolmaster game. I saw the anime before playing that xbox360 treasor, so that’s maybe why I appreaciated it. But now I would prefer a Haruka-chan figure of her singer idol type
It’s good figure, but I’ll never become a fan of the Idolm@ster series. Just not my kind of thing I guess.
The only thing I know about Idolmaster, either version, is there are some cute characters. That’s usually enough to get me to buy a figure.
“Though normally crabs aren’t an accessory you want with an attractive female, it works I guess.”
Lol, nice line ;p. Her eyes, the one’s on her head ^^, seem a bit too anime for me, maybe it’s just me. The paint isn’t something you can help with mass production so I let that one slide, especially after I saw the bottom half of her swimsuit near her buttocks lol; nice detail there ;p.
Nice pictures.
With pose like that I afraid that she’ll get leaning issue :O
I still don’t have any idolm@ster figurine, haven’t got the time to watch the series yet ^^
>There’s another view done by Danny Choo, but you all already knew that.
But your pictures kick seven shades of poop out of mine ^^;
AS, the eyes are a little simplified, yessir. It seems people like the sculpt around the butt area.
I’m pretty confident about the mount, oddly enough. The material on her foot and sandal feels like much sturdier plastic, similar to an Iroha figure I have that doesn’t lean after a whole year on display.
Not true, but thanks, Danny.
Thought I could have avoided getting this series from GSC, since swimsuit variations don’t often appear in the animes. But after finally catching the anime, I guess I was wrong and it’s gonna mean more purchases I guess -_-; I really oughta be more selective and just get figures I really like instead of whatever’s in sight :/ That might actually save me some money :p
I’ve been hit by the selective bug as well, which means I’m mostly buying Alter, GSC, and Max Factory stuff. While I love that stuff, I kind of feel like I’m not looking far and wide enough. Then when I do look outside of the big three it’s like a sea of misshapen heads, hair that looks like it’s made of play-dough, or I know the final product will look nothing like the prototype. It’s been a few months since I bought something not from the big three.
I’d say Kotobukiya is not bad as well, in fact, I think they’re pretty good.
Though, I’ve also been hit by selective bug that makes me aim for Kotobukiya, GSC and Max Factory stuffs.
Anyway, nice figure and superb pic! I wish I could do the same with mine! XD
Someone once said that swimsuit figurines make the best photoshoot.
They are a lot of fun to do.
[...] love Idolm@ster girls, even the Xenoglossia version. Haruka-chan is so gorgeous. Have a look at HappySoda’s review (beware nosebleeds). And for Miki pictures, you can also visit Ota desho? Ota [...]
