Iris was angry, so I told her to smile. Don’t you hate it when people tell you to smile? Maybe you’ve just worked several 80 hour weeks in row, your relationships have turned crap because of that, or as with Iris, a princess without a castle to waltz in, and some idiot just wants to turn that frown upside down, as if it were that easy. I usually smile when the idiot asks, but it’s because I imagine how funny it would be to punch them in the face.
It’s true though that some of the things that weigh down, we really didn’t need to carry for as long as we did. I’m definitely one of those who carries things for far too long. How about you?
Iris Princess Waltz Figure Review
- Iris

- 1/7 scale pre-painted pvc figure
- Japanese Release: Early July

I like the pretty girl with sword archetype quite a bit, which I think a lot of people do. French Doll’s sculpt takes the standard sword and gown pose and fuses it with a bit of action. This gives the train of her gown an ecchi lift. Overall, this helps to create a dynamic figurine that is a signature of French Doll sculpts.
While I love the sculpt, I’m less enthused about the production quality. The hair-tips don’t come to a pleasant point, which is made less appealing by a chunky and somewhat dirty paint application. This much is evident even without the aid of a macro lens. The lack of smoothness on her gown detracts a little from the elegance that makes a sword and gown figure attractive.
Overall, I think it’s a decent figurine. If you can live with a mediocre finish, then it’s a fine carve if you like this type of figure.

Oh man I was excited when I first saw the pictures of this figure months ago, but looking at her now and how the body was painted I’m pretty disappointed. The lower half seems ok but the upper part which involves torso, head and arms is pretty weak. I’m truly disappointed
Shame about the painting because even I can see the quality without the use of a macro lens. And when something like that is evident, it kind of ruins the figure as an overall whole.
good photos, but I can see the figurine quality is not that high. same like belela, i was excited with the figurine, but I canceled my pre-order 2 months ago. worried that this figurine will warp =\
Nice pose, nice pics, bad paint finish….too bad.
Ah~ I was thinking about getting her but passed up. Seems like it might of been for the better.
Like the other posts here, I’m a lil dissapointed on the paint =/
I hate to sound like a broken record, but yeah, the quality is suspect.
Too bad because a hot chick with a huge sword demands attention.
I only hope the other Waltz figure, Angela turns out better.
She needs more protection down below.
Fantastic photos as always.
I love girls with huge guns/weapons. It’s certainly what I love the most
So I was interested in this Iris figure, but I knew that I would be disapointed if I ordered her, since I have no trust in this manufacturer… that’s too sad. And they’re also preparing Angela who looks soooooo awesome, but well… I have not much hope of a better product. That’s shameful.
Nevertheless, your pictures are absolutely beautiful, and she looks better through them
I think what bugs me more is her pose, how she bends forward a little bit. It’s not like your typical action pose, as she misses some dynamics in her movement.
Yet, you can make her look good with your camera.
This was my first figure made by Wafudo. Stuff like that paint booger on the cross of her arm…like what do they do with the paint to get it that dirty? I was waiting to see how this one turned out before ordering Angela, but I doubt I will. It’s too bad that most French Doll/Cerberus PVCs gets made by lesser manufacturers.
Absolutely. I do agree about that… French Doll / Cerberus project figures deserve a much better treatment for the pvc adaptation.
this figurine really looks cool.
Overall it is pretty cool. It just doesn’t hold up to close scrutiny. For the price these things cost I can understand the disappointment when something doesn’t look good up close. I don’t consider it a total bust as I like the sculpt.
Yeah the first pic looks awesome
I guess since your pictures are so crisp and clear, you can’t help but see the faults. Definitely not a bad figure by any stretch of the imagination.
