It’s raining today, nasty and crooked. Normally, Saturday is a real busy day, but I don’t actually have anything to do, except toss some clothes in the laundry and watch some college hoops, seeing a couple of teams trying to make their case to the selection committee. Cleaning up this place is a possibility, but why not waste some time instead? The camera still had a charge so it was a good time to take some shots of a figure I’ve had for a long while, Kotone Ousaka from Native, sculpted by Chieri, based off a Tony Taka illustration.
(This is an ecchi/NSFW figure review).
Obviously this is meant to be an ero figure. She’s leaning back on a desk with her shirt pulled up and holding a banana near her mouth. Food with sex is gross, but I seem to be alone in that department. I guess I’m weird when it comes to food and where it goes. Anyway, on a fake plastic anime girl, an erotically held banana isn’t that bad, but not that high on the erotic scale. Of the figures that Native has released, Kotone is probably the most tame on the “looks like she’s waiting to be raped” scale (thanks, Colette).
Native’s Kotone figure looks a little like Kotona Elegance from Max Factory, which was also sculpted by Chieri. Naked + Creative figures are basically Max Factory, at least so far. Not entirely sure if Native is just another MF product line or a seperate company that issues production to Max Factory. Anyway, knowing this assured me that the figure would be of good quality. A lot of ero figures look unintentionally awful, so I usually pass. Plus I don’t know if I’d ever display them since my apartment is too small for a manime cave where I can just dump all sorts of things I wouldn’t want in my living room or bedroom. I’m not above collecting these things at all, just don’t have a place I want to put them. Just as well, since I’m running out space in general.
Anyway, Kotone is awesome. I look forward to more Native releases. Good paint and sculpt, though she has good and bad angles like many figures (bangs cover her eyes when turned even slightly away). Any time a figure can have something other than a plastic disc as a base, it is great. The desk rocks. Now I wish I had something to hang on the hooks on the side of her desk, like a bag, or her skirt or something. That would have been a great finishing detail.
Her bikini top and bottom are both removable. I didn’t bother taking any pictures of Kotone sans bikini bottom, because it took a bit of effort to get the strap piece in place and there was no way I’d do that again. Plus, it doesn’t really look all that great. Her bikini bottom actually has more shape information than when she’s bare, so no point in it really. The top is far easier to remove, but her boobs look bigger with the bikini top on, so that’s the view for me. Either way, the boobs side of The Chest Wars should be fine with either clothing configuration.
It was a lot of fun taking these shots. Ero figure, yeah. Not just that though. There were a couple of interesting lighting puzzles to work out. Kind of surprised at how little light I wound up using.

Tentacle Armada
Mine has been on the waiting-to-review list for quite a long while. One thing I had trouble with was the inability to make her fit to her pegs, I would have to stretch her left arm and that would risk breaking it. The other was the pantsu itself, never seemed to be able to go all the way around her waist. Maybe I am doing it wrong, but I doubt it.
Mine was like that as well. It took a long time to get the strap into the tiny little slot it has to go in, which is difficult when there’s like no leeway in the first place to get a good angle. I’m sure it took about twenty minutes. And it did seem like I had to stretch her arm to fit onto the desk, but now that she’s been on the desk for a couple of months it’s fine, easy to take on or off the desk.
Well mine is back in the box now and there are a few potential buyers. I had no idea Native stood for what you said and that it was by MF, I thought Native was an entirely new line. That kind of explains the quality for Kotone, but not for the others. Native’s work in the other webshop exclusives have been, as samples, doubtful.

I take it this is something of a common issue with some figures. I got a Lain figure awhile back and I had to push and bend her leg some to get her foot on to the right peg. It still pops out easily, and I have to go back in to bending mode to get her foot back on the peg. I’m worried that one of these days the leg is just going to snap off.
It happens, though I don’t have any where they pop out on their own. Out of 100+ figures, I’ve had 2 where the peg has snapped or cracked, so it happens. It’s less than 2% of a fail rate, but that’s kind of high for something with no moving parts. So while not common, happens more than it should. They have gotten a lot better at correcting these problems over the last couple of years.
My Kotone also suffers from the same thing. I was also worried I would break something trying to get her on the pegs. And the pantsu won’t fasten. But she is still a cute figure. Need to review her before long also =D

Liked this figure when it was first advertised and love how close and true it was to Tony’s original art.
Never ended up buying it though due to price, space and other constraints. Everytime I see a review of her, certainly one with such excellent photos, wish I would have bought her. T_T
Also prefer if she had been crafted without that banana, it just doesn’t fit, does it?

Well, there’s that special purple item they had for WonFest. That woulda really made it ero. Thinking of other food items. A cucumber? A turkey leg? lolol I guess banana is the best bet.

I kinda hate myself for always missing preorders for Native`s products but maybe ill be lucky with the next one.
I see Kotone the same as you, using the banana to tease you. I kind of went into a tangent that wasn’t about the figure itself.
I’m done with college ball. Nothing crushes your spirit like seeing your team start out hot and then lose nine in a row to drop out of even NIT contention.
Food with sex may be gross, but what about sex with food? XD I want that little doodad Native was handing out at Wonder Festival a month ago … it seems to be more appropriate for Kotone than fruit.
I saw a picture on Heisei Democracy where Native’s Emuko figure was being shown off at a figure convention with Max Factory on its ID plate, so I always assumed that Native was MF’s hentai figure label.

My alma mater, Penn State, hasn’t been a basketball powerhouse for as long as I remember (a good season for them is the NIT), so I really only pay attention during March Madness. No spirit crushing for me. I get caught up in it every year, even though I have no vested interest in who wins, but I certainly have teams that I hope lose and bow out early.
I’m inclined to think that Native is a Max Factory line, but I wasn’t sure.
I went to U.Va., I think our loss to you guys set the tone for our season. I’ll take some solace in that Virginia Tech got left out of the tournament and hope that Maryland gets an early boot.

Yeah, totally. It usually gets a wtf or an omg, which kind of makes it funny.
Ero figures are sometimes heavy in detail as there is not much else to concentrate on in terms of clothing lol. She doesn’t look too bad compared to other ero figures that I’ve seen. Come up with a story like someone was eating a banana, left the peel on the ground, Kotone slipped on it, her skirt fell off in mid-air, she landed on the table, and a banana magically slipped into her hand xD. At least she doesn’t have her mouth open ^^;;. Wow, Penn State, nice.
